North Sentinel Island is one of the Andaman Islands, located in the Bay of Bengal. It’s a territory of India 🇮🇳 and the home of the Sentinelese, who are believed to be one of the last uncontacted tribes on all of planet Earth. The tribe has inhabited the island for thousands of years

In November of 2018, the Sentinelese made headlines for the murder of John Allen Chau, who was an American missionary that illegally traveled to the island, in an attempt to convert the tribe to Christianity.

Justin Lin is set to direct _The Last Days of John Allen Chau_ as his next film and Ben Ripley is penning the script. The movie is based on Alex Perry’s Outside Magazine article of the same title, and follows Chau, to the protect island in the Indian Ocean, where outsiders are forbidden. Lin is best known as one of the directors of the _Fast & Furious_ franchise.

This video starts with an introduction which provides general information about the island and the tribe. Next, the geography section will provide details about the island’s location in the Bay of Bengal, the coral reefs that surround it and the impact the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake.

The Andamanese section of the video discusses the broad class of people that the Sentinelese islanders belong to. The Andamanese are the indigenous peoples of the Andaman Islands, which includes the Great Andamanese, the Jarawas, the Jangil, the Onge and the Sentinelese.

The population section provides estimated numbers generated by India’s census. A description of the tribe’s appearance will be presented and the tribe’s practices will be examined. Their food and diet and language will also be analyzed.
