    TRIP REPORT | The Etihad B777 Excellence! | Abu Dhabi to Rome | ETIHAD Boeing 777



    Etihad Trip Report flying from Abu Dhabi to Rome onboard one of Etihad’s Boeing 777-300ER on a perfect summer night and morning.

    It was probably the flight that I liked and hated the most at the same time. It was a magnificent onboard service, one of the most amazing crews I’ve seen, and a really beautiful B777! But the windows were in the worst condition I’ve seen in many years. They were just terrible: scratched, dirty and, at some points, like melted. I tried my best during recording and editing and I think I’ve created something watchable. 🙂

    Most European flights of Etihad depart from Abu Dhabi around 2am-3am local time. This one was no exception. The airport was crowded at that moment. It’s not that I love to use airports so crowded but from time to time I remember the pandemic times and I like the current status again.

    After a very long taxi in Abu Dhabi airport, we took off southbound and quickly made a 180° turn to start our flight to Rome-Fiumicino. We overflew the Abu Dhabi outskirts just before entering the Persian Gulf. We flew northbound towards Bahrein and entered Saudi Arabia, flying in direct course to Amman (Jordan). From there to Tel Aviv, from where we got some amazing views. We then entered the Mediterranean and flew over the Greek Islands. Athens and Corfu were the next 2 main places, just before setting direct course to Naples and, finally, Rome, where we landed on time.

    Maybe the best part of this flight was the amazing catering service. On this 5h30min flight, there were 2 services: 1 just after departure and the 2nd one (main; breakfast) 2h before landing. The first one even had a very well-elaborated dessert! The main one was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had on a plane. Super tasty and very well presented. 10 out of 10, in my opinion. Far behind is already the “reduced Covid onboard service”. On this flight, it was just amazing.

      Enjoyable and interesting as usual🙂. I have never transited Abu Dhabi Airport so that was of particular interest. The departure are looked horribly crowded but what stood out was the clarity of the airport announcements. I think a lot of other vloggers have forgotten that only 6% of passengers fly Premium i.e. First + Business so endless prattling on about lounges and perks and 5 star hotel rooms is irrelevant to most of us. Please could you include the price of your ticket when possible? And most importantly did you message Etihad about the state of this 'plane's windows?

      Lucas thank you for the report! I 've loved the nights views of Amman and Tel Aviv.The service was good but the cabin does hot match the beautiful and morden livery, we always expect more from the Gulf area airlines, and the airport was too crowded and small

      WOW Beautiful night flight with all the colorful lights from the air. 👍🏻 Food looked delicious & the windows were trashed but Etihad is a great airline. Fun trip. 👍🏻🙋🏼‍♀️🇺🇸

      Love the starting of the engines sound like a star cruiser. Love how they play with the lights. Looks like the state of the windows is because of how they wash the plane. Looked like a wonderful soft landing.

      Because of this video I'm wondering about the mysteries of airplane window maintenance.
      Are soap and water sufficient, or will they polish the windows, or do they need to replace the windows?

      My dad was the manager of structures at etihad. But back in 2021 he had a bleed on the brain and passed away. I will always love etihad and it’s nice to see people filming tripreports about them
