In this 80 minutes video, I reveal the greatest bicycle trip of my life: coast to coast from Washington DC to Eugene, Oregon. A journey that lasted 80 days, touching 15 different states, four time zones, several climates, environments and mountain passes, for a total of over 6000 km (3757 miles), of which 1151 km were of gravel (the 19%)!
A very big and brave step – this journey is 10 times longer than my longest bike tour so far! Not being an athlete, with no real preparation and in a foreign country, I was never sure of making it, until the last day: this uncertainty enhanced the taste for the unknown and the thrill of discovery.
Something so vast, in terms of distance and time, escapes control and predictions, making it an adventure to be calibrated and faced day after day, always moving forward. As many obstacles and problems as fun, surprise and joy.

Just found your video about crossing it from east to west. I did it the oppsite way: https://studio.youtube.com/video/l2ndUdX0NuI and – I admire your courage to cycle from east to west. From west to east I had yet clearly more tailwind than headwind, I often thought that the reverse path must be very exhausting. However, clearly the journey to the west is historically certainly very exciting. Have a good time.
Great video. My wife and I plan to ride the Trans-America trail in two years. After that, we plan to bicycle around Spain.
Cool video and it looks like it was a heck of a journey. I think my fellow Americans forget how massive, diverse, rugged and just plain beautiful our country try is. We sometimes need a foreign to remind us.
