  1. Tip/Hack: If your flight lands outside of Tokyo, *get the regional IC cards instead of Suica*. ICOCA (Osaka/Kansai), ToICa (Nagoya/Chubu) and SUGOCA (Fukuoka) are currently still being sold without limitations. For tourists, they're virtually the same as Suica, and just as usable on trains/subways/buses/mini-markets in Tokyo!

If you are mainly in Tokyo, JR Central confirms (as of right now) that ToICa are also being sold at their ticket offices in Tokyo and Shinagawa Stations without limitations. If you want to get a physical IC card lasting >28 days, I would recommend this.

  2. Thank you for your video. One question about Visit Japan Web and JR Pass: it is my knowledge that JR Pass is available only for foreign customers that have a tourist permission stamp on their passport. What about the electronic procedure at arrival? If I show my QR codes to some electronic scanner/ gate, will I be able to obtain a stamp on my passport? Will the immigration gates have some human assistance too?
Hope the question is clear, thank you in advance

  3. Im going on a trip to Japan this weekend, but im not sure about something. Our plan is for us to arive at HND at about 1pm and spend the evening in tokyo but taking the bullet train to Osaka and really start the trip in Osaka, Kyoto and Nara then back to Tokyo for a week before heading home. So i was curious about the luggage shipping, do you recommend we ship our luggage from HND straight to Osaka? And if yes, i suppose it wont arrive the same day since we are arriving at about 1pm. Because the other option i though was putting our luggage on a locker in Tokyo then going all the way to Osaka with out luggage

  4. Thank you very much for this great video. I gained a lot of info for our April 2024 trip. Some of them worries me a bit.😢 Just a bit pitty that all this essential informations are so condensed (played the video 3x to catch all the info😂).
Just a few add question: I heard from another traveller that the NAMED Suica cards are still available, only those annonymous are put on hold. Is it correct?
Do you really expect the price increase of JR pass will be that dramatic? Is it already a done deal? Like 65% price increase is complete nonsense. If they say up to 30% I wouldn’t say a word but this is sick frankly speaking. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Do the JR published any official reasoning? I would love to understand it better.

  5. I've been critical of your videos in the past, but this is excellent. Very good video. Very informative. Spot on on the key dot points on getting sorted for a holiday in Japan. I've always said, the next most important things to sort after flights and accommodation, are pocket wifi, JR Railpass and IC Card.

  6. Awesome video! This is the first video of yours I've seen. I'm planning for my trip this spring and I typed up everything into my notes. All in all it seems like a pretty easy time getting through and starting my Japan trip.

  7. this will be my first time travelling to Japan . we are planning to go to Kyoto is taking train and bus convenient (considering traffic) since we will be there for 4 days only. What are the best way to see Kyoto in a short time period?

  8. Thank you for a very clear, concise informative video, so I’m planning my trip for November and arriving 2230 if we arrive on time – so you have helped me plan for late night arrival

  9. So would you say that it's easier to reload a Pasmo or a Welcome Suica card? Im inclined to get the Pasmo, based on the number of locations.
