Last week we completed 3 weeks of adventures through the high mountains of Peru. Drives and encounters like no others. This week, the vibe cannot be more different. We drove to the capital city of Peru for some exciting projects we have for our Land Rover Defender the Albatross. We have planned upgrades on our energy/electricity system, the power of our engine and the storage capacity.

It is truly the kind of upgrades that are going to change our life on the road. Our main objective with it is to be able to stay in remote areas for longer time period at the time. It was not an easy time at the workshop but it is worth the struggle!

Fantastic Retrofit Albatross 2.0. Very commendable that you could do all that work with some help of course. Took longer than you planned but you didn't loose your cool although Mathilde did look perturbed a couple of times, Very much looking forward to more videos of your continuing journey. Just one more thing a haircut maybe!
Wow.. that is a lot of upgrades! Love the box under the truck as well as the tire carrier. But the engine power increase is something we are very interested in "seeing". Can you do a review of the engine improvement and whether you can actually notice the difference? Also, how does it change your MPG efficiency – hopefully you get better fuel economy after the increase.
As a Land Rover “nut”, That was brilliant to watch, I hope it all works well for you both, can’t wait until the next vid!
You did a great upgrade: engine and elect power, storage… You will feel much more confortable. I also have one Defender 2.2l reprogrammed at about 150hp, but far from your very complete set-up. I love my defender with the feedom it provides by its capabilities. With the engine torque increase you must keep an eye on your transmission. The intermediate axis of the transfer case is a bit weak and it could be damaged. A reinforcement is possible if needed.

Well, that was a very interesting technnical episode. Hope your upgrades works out for the better. I got a bit of a chuckle when Nick commented about the drivers in Lima and obeying the traffic rules (if any). You may find the drivers in Bolivia are the same or may be worse🤭. when I go and visit there I let my brother do the city driving. I stick to what I do best, off road driving.

Some good mods there. I will be particularly interested in what you think of the engine re-map and how it performs over time.
This episode felt very quick, stressy, choppy and “dispassionate”. The interesting and exciting mechanical installations seemed very superficially edited. Almost as if you have absolutely no interest in it. I personally (and maybe your sponsors aswell) would have liked it, if you went a bit more in to depth what gear you're using, how to mount it, what are the workshops in Lima like and so on. It felt like an action movie for kids. Your commercial and Mathilde talking took longer than the actual installation/transformation part.
