Today we are in Krakow experiencing the best Christmas market in Poland! We spent $20 US dollars on some amazing food and drinks. While trying to order a standard sausage we accidentally order a famous polish Christmas treat, Smalec. Smalec is a dish made of rendered pork fat spread across topped with onions and pickles and we added kielbasa!

We warm up with a delicious garlic soup and even get a couple free beers. The thing we will miss the most about Poland is definitely the Oscypek, a delicious smoky grilled cheese wrapped in bacon and topped with cranberry sauce.

Thank you for watching and thank you Poland for having us!

Hi, we’re Brandon and Alyssa. We saved $30,000 to travel for a year! For the first part of our adventure we lived in our 2014 Prius for 100 days traveling from San Diego to Canada and across the trans Canadian Highway. We’ve made it to Europe with no return flight, no itinerary and an endless desire to eat and drink EVERYTHING! Don’t forget to subscribe to see where we go next!

This video filmed in Krakow Poland December 2022.

  1. I have planned Poland 15 days for this December. I so appreciate all your helpful hints and tips. Wrocław, Krakow and Gdańsk. Very excited.

  2. Hi guys, it's mom. If you guys thought that chili chocolate thing was really hot, I defiantly would have been crying hysterically and have to go home.

  3. Hey guys! I've been to Poland too. Summer of 2019. Krakow and Auschwitz. Chillin' place that one. Their cuisine tends to be fatty. that smalec, is the pig's fat. Been to a wedding back then. And it didn't look much different that romanian weddings. Fatty foods with meat and heavy drinking. High octane vodka….

  4. Ah and one more thing. Poland and respectively Krakow are mentioned in Seinfeld. The pony remark episode. The mentioning is made by Earl Boen. He played in the first 2 Terminator. He died on january 5th this year.

  5. If you liked Kraków , u should visit city of Nicolaus Copernicus – Toruń as well. Its one huge Unesco Heritage site , remarkably well preserved example of a medieval European trading and administrative centre, located on the Vistula River , founded in 1233 a.d. by Teutonic Order.
