American Tries Polish Food For The First Time

While visiting my family in Poland I decided to try out some of their most classic dishes. It was time for lots of meat, beer, vodka, more meat, more vodka and plenty of other delicious meals such as beets, eggs, beef, sauerkraut and more. Nostrovia!

Do reszty spoko, Tatar Git podany. Dziewczyno nie rób takich rzeczy bo jak już chcesz "AMERYKANOWI" coś podać z tradycyjnych polskich potraw to się lepiej przygotuj. Tyle w temacie.

  2. Actually, "flaczki" translates into TRIPE 😎 And the Tartar beefsteak needs to be MIXED UP, and WELL with a fork well before you even begin to eat it!!! So that the chopped pickles and onions mingle with it. And add some freshly ground pepper and brown sauce – and only then does it become a true delicacy 😋😋😋

  3. My Goodness, how can she present flaczki as guts…these are TRIPES. It's a tender beef's stomach not guts. Used for delicatessen in Italian or Chinese cuisine, too.

And sodium in flaczki? Is there some poor flavour enhancer loaded with MSG added?

Kiszka, we'd rather say kaszanka. It's not mainly made out of blood, which in fact is added there, but mainly from buckweath and liver. We love it grilled or fried with onions, you don't eat it raw as she served him.

Flaczki, one of our cuisine secret powerfood, is technically a dish not a soup by the way. It should be dense, packed with flavour from TRIPES boiled to softness combined with a great, long boiled, homemade, high quality beef stock. Plus originally with bunch of spices like marjoram, hot paprika or ginger.

And we love flaczki/tripes especially when having hangover. Same as barszcz and żurek:-)
All those soups play that healing role way much better than bigos which you actually eat while drinking vodka, often on wedding parties, not on the next day when it hurts….
Actually I never met anybody recommending bigos for hangover and I've drunk like a tank of vodka in my life already….

    Żurek made of fermented cereals????
Oh dear. It's made from extremely healthy rye flour sourdough when in original.
And yes Buff Dude, you're right, you could have tasted some onions in this soup though you didn't see nor feel them inside. I believe it's because this specific żurek was also artificially flavoured before being put on a discount shelf.
In a true homemade food version finely chopped onion is added to this soup in the final phase of cooking, after being slowly melted and caramelised on a separate pan, usually along with small bacon cubes. Normally you would have tasted onions, feel them on your tongue and see them in;-)

Agnieszka, please, at least try checking in Wikipedia before recording if you have such low knowledge and experience on a topic you try to get views with.

Plus, I'd rather put guts in my mouth than this beer-pretending HGB eurolager and this cheap, chemically flavoured vodka. We have much better players in both categories in here 🙂

Still, enjoy if you like it. Kudos for traditional red beads and lips combo :-)))

  4. Tripe is not guts. The soup we call tripe is made from cow stomachs. I'm very sorry that you didn't tell your husband to mix everything before he started eating the steak tartare. Very brave man, it's a pity you don't know more about Polish cuisine.

  5. I have to say that in case of the Bewsztyk Tatarski, it tastes a bit better when you mix the yolk, meat, diced onion and pickles, maggie before consumption and allow the tastes to mix (in a fridge preferably). Then you can actually taste something unique 😉 Also having a good bread with butter with it makes it an amazing dish. Eating it like this at least for me makes it not as good as it can be.

  6. I love grilled kiszka, I love flaczki. You did so many mistakes in testing tatar. I hate Tyskie is not a beer it's piss of chemical shit!

  7. Tatar należy zmieszać z żółtkiem, cebulą, i przyprawami, dopiero wtedy jemy. Pani prezenterka powinna się podszkolić trochę. Zamiast kiszki powinna być kaszanka z musztardą. I naprawdę tradycyjna zupa czyli czarnina.

  8. A pretty good and representative mix I would say. My choice would be to ditch 'kiszka' & 'flaczki' and put 'galaretka z kurczaka' (chicken jelly) & 'słone paluszki' (salty sticks) instead. Come to think of it I would also add 'gołąbki' (cabbage wraps? – You can correct me on translation when needed). And 'fasolka po bretońsku'? Hell, if we keep on going this will be a cheat week, not a cheat day 😉 Pozdrawiam!

  10. Zurek is NOT made from fermented cereal lol😂😂😂 silly sausage! It's fermented rye flour.. Kiszka is NOT made of blood and this doesn't look like kaszanka that is actual blood sausage. Flaczki is NOT guts it's tripe. When you say lots of sodium. Salt is chemical compound which is sodium chloride, not just sodium. You cannot eat sodium lol. Educate yourself people before recording stuff on YT unless you wanna look silly. Oh and by the way, Delicje were not a hot stuff during the Communism. These become popular later, in the 90's.
