  1. I greatly enjoyed this video. I did the same trip in 2014 on an overnight sleeper – in a three berth compartment. It was my first introduction to chocolate-filled croissants, which have since become my snack of choice on many train journeys since. I still have and use the complementary hand towel as well. It was good to see the scenery I missed while sleeping!

  2. I wonder if your carriage was scheduled to have compartments and was swapped for a saloon one so the seats were messed up. Generally a good service.

What I don't understand is why PKP can't make the see trajns longer when needed. Can thr locomotive not haul more coaches? Are platforms too short? Do they just not have more coaches? Even when millions of Ukrainians were coming on those trains into Germany, they weren't made longer.

  3. Well, if I see a german flag in connection with train travel, it got to end in disaster! Trust me, Im speaking from years of experience, and a lifetime of sheer hatred towards DB.

  4. I love your videos mate. I took the train from cologne to Heidelberg last month. Went to Heidelberg castle which is awesome and beautiful. Has a monorail and a funicular. Worth doing if your ever in that part of Deutschland

  5. The train station in Berlin sure has a lot of natural light. I think you look a lot better with the short hair instead of the perm style, as well 😊.

  6. You have to think of first class as more than just a seat upgrade as it's a clientele upgrade too. You'll always get more respectful folk in first class and certainly less likely to get children.

  7. I see the journey was two years ago when the world was coming out of the pandemic. I wonder if that led to some of the capacity problems – it certainly did in Britain. Maybe they've eased in the two years since then. Also, thank heavens we don't have to wear those bloody masks any more.

  8. Dylan, when did you record this? I was in Berlin last month and no-one was wearing masks. I travelled by train, Amsterdam-Berlin on a loco hauled ICE train, 5+ hours journey time, train arrived 30+ minutes late, the air con failed and the buffet had only a limited range of foods (Luckily I had some with me anyway). This was in a compartment coach in 1st class, last coach in the train (great rear window views), overall a dissapointing experience. DB is not what it is cracked up to be. In part watching your videos over lockdown inspired me to use the railways instead of flying!

  9. One considers you protest too much. Paying £60 for first class on an 7-8 hour journey in a non-standing-room-only carriage would be the fare of choice. My experience of PKP first class from Warsaw to Berlin certainly included complimentary liquid refreshment. As for trains being busy——-never heard of that before especially on services from Waterloo.
