I lived in Paris almost 5 years ago and decided to come back to rent a studio apartment for 3 months and relive old memories. However, Paris has been going through a period of extreme adversity and has changed a lot in these past 5 years. It’s one thing to see what’s going on in the media but very different to experience it for yourself. Unfortunately, my time spent here wasn’t all great and I fell victim to some unwanted attention that tainted my experience a bit. My goal of sharing this story isn’t to instal fear or prevent anyone from visiting, but rather raise the seriousness of these issues to invoke change and also so fellow travelers know to be extra careful and diligent when visiting. Paris is still a lovely city to visit, which I’m sure you’ll understand by watching the first half of this video :).
