Interesting talk. Do we have any archaeological evidence of the ships . Any temples in Odisha that depict ships on their architecture ?
It was a very good story telling, I loved your and Preeta's narration, but what I felt that we need sensible evidences to write and present the history.
Being Indian I am emotionally inclined for Indian culture and history and suffer from hiraeth and semi-concocted archaic claim.
What Preeta is presenting of ship building and sailing ships etc., can be a little scows(she mentioned as "donga") people used to travel and doing trade. Folk-lore cannot be a proof.
People always moved, immigrated around Eastern India and South Eastern Asia. Visiting as pilgrimage also bringing business always all over the world.
Lack of supporting the claim and obscurity are the issues what I can contemplate.
