In this magnificent meander through Maida Vale Joolz takes you to many lovely pubs and looks at some interesting places. Learn all about why it is called Maida Vale. The battle of Maida and the hero of Maida. There’s a lovely trip on the canal in Little Venice, lots of street furniture and oddities including stink pipes and cabman shelters. London’s largest brothel at one time and Norman Wisdom’s freedom of the capital of Albania.
There’s John Wayne’s visit to London, London’s tallest phone box and more stuff about The Sweeney. Maida Vale is a very pretty part of London and has lots of beautiful hidden pockets.

Acorns you fool not pineapples
Wonderful, Joolz. I have followed your Channel for a number of years and I have certainly followed your footsteps due to these tours. Love London and looking forward to my next visit ( later this year). Thanks, from a Norwegian.
I ran on that Paddington running track in the 1970s in the street market sports day. I think I ran for Berwick St (or perhaps Rupert St ) Races were named after fruits so the Barlinka stakes, Conference dash etc. I won a little cup with Cape inscribed on it. Presented by Steve Perryman the Spurs captain. Just a bit of London history.
Another great film sharing the neighborhoods of London, not just with locals, but also enthusiasts all over the world. Hello from los angeles 👋🏾
John 11.25-26 Jesus said unto her I AM the resurrection and the life he that believes in me thou he were dead yet shall he live and whosoever lives and belives in me shall never die believest thou this Amen
Maid available. Nudge nudge wink wink. My neighbourhood, well, Warwick Ave. And Peter’s an old friend of mine. You found the right man.
Having lived on the corner of Sutherland and Warwick av. for most of 1975, visiting the beautiful Warrington Hotel pub at the end of your video brought back many wonderful memories to this once-young Canadian, having hoisted many a pint (only 52 p!) there
Love this video for many reasons. I love the way you tell the different stories about the area, I first saw Maida Ave in the movie Georgy Girl but I had no idea there was more to the area and the name. Now saying this I am married to a Maida and his family does come from Sicily so I will be going through his genealogy who knows maybe he [Michael] comes from royalty lol. People think my last name is Valentino but no I just loved silent movies and chose Valentino from Rudy V. Time for a visit to the UK. To the cozy wonderful pubs and the long wonderful history of England.
The location for Hitchcock’s Dial M for Murder. Can someone find that street ?
You need a celluloid collar and a dickie.
Enjoying the different Post boxes. Does Charles I I I have one yet?
Excuse me can you tell me where Europe's biggest brothel during WW2 is?
Yes.
I think i might have spotted a stink pipe in my local area in Bristol
you were standing by the Madness "House Of Fun" chemist but didnt mention it !!! (corner of Kilburn Park Rd & Shirland).
I should have chugged my pint when I saw you in The Albert
oh, i am so pleased you filmed this video!!! It's like I've sent you to specific spots to remind me of places I went to on my visit to London! I ended in Maida Vale after a very emotional visit to Abbey Road one novemeber morning, and I popped into that Starbucks behind you. There's even a Gail's there now! Back in 2015 it was a very residential area and with very few cafes. I also sang Duffy's song when I got to Warwick Av, and so many other places you pass by… aaaah, this was utterly joyous for me! The pub/hotel at the end! I took a picture of it but didn't remember much of the surroundings! Thank you thank you.
Another great video team Joolz
Well that was a lovely trip down memory lane for me as I used to live in Maida Vale…just by the BBC studios!!
Browns chemist in Shirland road features in the video to house of fun
i lOVE Your videos Shame you have no Musicality .
Hey Joolz
There is a gem of a walk in Eltham through the Tudor Palace and Gardens. Check it out
I would like to walk around London and see all this interesting stuff but the problem is I don't like exercise. I really don't know what to do because I absolutely refuse to walk but I want to walk and have fun. There must be a way to walk around without walking. Join my in my quest to say no to ALL EXERCISE
