God I’m sorry guys. But I’m sure these random things happen so you can create the best, most interesting content!!! 🙈🙈 big love. God life’s a crazy adventure 🥲 I would have honestly had a head fit and probably ended up in a Portuguese psych ward and wouldn’t be allowed to live there 🤣
You should move to Australia
Hello put them in a Portuguese school. My parents took me to France when I was twelve I became bilingual in less than a year. Being bilingual majes life cool😂❤
So sorry didn't work out at least you tried. Jesus didn't say the earth was round because it was already said in the Hebrew scriptures Isaiah 40v22 hope that helps😊
DUDE …ROUND … REALLY ???
THE MATH JUST DO NOT ADD UP
GOD LOVES THE TRUTH
I think you might be gluten intolerant? Sounds like a random thing to say huh? 🤔
Most of the kids and teachers in Portuguese schools can speak English. Your kids will be fluent in Portuguese within six months, a great bonus for them. Life's an adventure!!
People pay thousands extra to have a convertible……no one died, it's a terrible shock, but the whole family was safe
Santander (Spain)❤
I can literally feel your stress! I’m so sorry. What a nightmare, but so easily done😢
omg, what an absolute nightmare…the $$$ issue, the language issue….I probably would have had a slight nervous breakdown on the side of the road!! It does seem like such an amazing place though….
Move to Australia!! 🎉❤
So home schooling…I home school my two children and the social aspect is a total misconception. If you do your research you can find groups/clubs etc they can attend and therefore form friendships. I have been home educating for about 6 months and it’s totally different to during covid.I agree it was horrendous. But homeschooling/home Ed is totally different and can be tailored about your family, routine and your children abilities interests etc. Good luck! I hope you both can work something out so you can make this move work!
What are you guys running from, must be tiring never being content with what you have?😢
wow – four people didn't notice that the roof was still up? That was a lesson for life
You seem like good people but the vid is clearly a bit overproduced? Like too many images. I see you put a lot of effort into it and appreciate it but sometimes less is more. Show some still pic longer over making it tiktoked. The narrative itself is pretty good. Hope this helps. Greets from canary islands (best weather in europe!)
MOVE TO AUSTRALIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
You should move to Brasil
it doesn't take long for kids to learn the language. My three went and they are bilingual. after about 6 months they were getting along fine.
Homeschooling in Portugal is controlled by the government. It's only allowed if one of the parents has a uni degree and signs a document as the "educator" responsible for the education of the child. And the educator then has to provide a written curriculum, with details of all and each class and activity, including portuguese, for the whole school year. The child and parent will be enrolled in a state school and must attend meetings and the child's progress will be checked by that school.
Much easier to enrol the child in a school, public or private.
The Portuguese education system is good.
I have a feeling Portugal is not for you. Life is not easy. Less easy than in UK.
Unless you have enough money to buy a recently built modern home with all mod-cons, you'll find most houses too cold… too damp… too unconfortable… no heating in winter.
Are you used to high levels of disconfort??? And the kids??? Brace yourselves!
Another thing is that locals will not pay much attention if you speak like an express train… You'll have to just slow down.
You don't mention anything about visas. You must be able to fulfill certain requirements to get one.
Long term residency visas (D7 visas) require passive income such as income from rents, investments, pensions, etc. Any income that does not require you to work to earn that income.
Temporary visas for digital nomadas (D8) require a minimum income of around 3,000 Euros per month, plus more for dependents, but is only valid for 1 year. Not renewable.
What visa have you got?
Don't take my comment the wrong way, but I think it's rather hypocritical that you want to leave the UK for all of the stated reasons and come to Portugal, which is going through the worst housing crisis ever – and certainly the worst in Europe, especially in the cities of Porto, Lisbon and the surrounding area (Ericeira included).
There are many factors that have brought us to this situation and all of them are political, like the VISA programme, and it's certainly not the fault of foreigners. But nowadays, information is everywhere and I think it's up to those who come to realise whether it makes sense to come and what lifestyle they want to lead here – whether it's one that is on a par with the locals, or one that forces the locals to emigrate, just as you are having to do in your own country.
Just a food for thought.
I wish you the best of luck in this change and new stage of life.
Well, you are English who want to come and live in Portugal (welcome!), but you don't make the slightest effort before coming, to learn the country's language and you still complain about the language barrier???? That doesn't make any sense!
Your house friends did not tell you they are Catholic.
Amazed it took you so long to realise you might prevail on local workers to help with the roof repair , how good of you to shelve your rather insular mind set ……
That must of been so stressful. I'm really glad you are all safe.
lol The bible does actually say that the world is round. Isaiah 40:22. Written long before Jesus was on Earth.
My parents migrated in the mid 90's from Cambridge uk to Doha Qatar. literally they just put my siblings and I in an arabic school and we just got on with it. you will be surprised how children's minds are sponges and they just take it in. I would just play and pick up words and slowly after one year at the age of 7 I spoke fluent arabic. 28 years later we still live in Qatar graduated from uni and speak English and Arabic.
Isaiah chapter 40 verse 22 !
Turns out he did tell us the shape 😉.
First of all, I just found your channel and love it!
I moved to Portugal 5.5 years ago and in the beginning I loved it but now I am looking to move to the UK. It is not easy here as a foreigner, especially if you don´t speak the language. If your kids go to a PT school, keep in mind you might not be able to communicate with the school staff, not with authorities etc. Portuguese people are very nice but it is hard to become friends with them, they are friendly on the outside but don´t let strangers in their circles. Also, prices are going crazy here for everything but esecially real estate and the slowliness and chaos slowly creeps up on a lot of people that moved here in the past years so many are starting to leave again
