We arrive at our first campsite in Europe, in the lovely quiet village of Guignicourt, in the Aisne department in Hauts-de-France.

  1. Really nice site this, we stayed there on our way out to and back from Spain this year and will definitely use it again. The fuel from the local Carrefour was the cheapest we saw in France.

  2. At least you didn't have my nightmare the machine wouldn't accept the ticket and i had a whole load of cars behind me getting very impatient beeping their horns. I had to press for assistance but couldn't hear what he was saying in the end he just put the fee on the display to pay. 😂 Nevertheless we had a brilliant holiday like im sure you both will. Looking forward to seeing more of your travels.

  3. Good video as always. Strange coincidence as we stayed on that same pitch on 7th July overnight stay on way back from Lake Annecy to the tunnel. Nice clean site but the showers were dreadful. Enjoy your next part.

  4. The first toll is always so nerve wracking!!! We started putting the card in and then changed to waving the contactless. We only held the traffic up once 😃😃
Toll stress is the worst thing about Europe travel 😃. We looked at all the specific toll cards but it seemed a hastle to pay for them and then some were a bit sporadic. So it was just debit card which seemed to be fine once we worked out where to put it!
    Safe trip guys.

  5. A little shout up for the E Movis Tag, absolutely brilliant, worked every time and the T30 lane means you keep moving through the barrier. Gets you past the often long lines of lorries very often.

  6. have a great trip hate the toll as i always struggle to work them end up having a row with my wife . Funny where every you go in france even the smallest of villages they always have a women hairdressers in the village .sometimes the only shop .

  7. Good to see you drinking good old Australian Charonnay there in the back ground….. opps sorry am a bit bias as I am in Adelaide South Australi, the best winery in McLaren Vale only 10 minutes drive away.

  8. Three years ago we started our trips to France / Spain and Portugal the first trip was a nightmare with the tolls then on the second trip we got a Tag from the Club and never looked back. Its worked first time very time. Hope you both enjoy your trip and love watching your adventures.

  9. It's a great site, ideal as a first/ last night stop. We have been using it for nearly 20 years. It has as good restaurant and bar.
The train to Reims takes 35 mins and is well worth a visit as is the old Reims racing circuit.

  10. Bienvenue a France 🇫🇷 a lovely start to your tour and good to find such a lovely relaxing site and looked a lovely town to explore
It always seems to rain when we get off le shuttle as well it’s not bad when you get out of the tunnel and there are some lovely views off the a26!
All the best to you all for the tour Daniel

  11. Not sure if you have been advised by other subscribers… The Clarity Card needs the PIN unlocking otherwise it will not work on the Peages. Had the same trouble with my exact card a few years ago. Rang Halifax from France and they said there was nothing wrong with it and they haven't put a block on it. If you can get to a cash point and can access pin services you'll see it has 😅an option to unlock the pin. Say yes to this and you'll be sorted. Remember to do it every time you get a new card. It's only the Peage system that will not accept it. It's a good tip for anyone going on the Peages in France. We had to use my wife's debit card which cost us each transaction. At least we know now.
