Encounters and EMOTIONS in Livingstone, Zambia |S2EP18|

I’m leaving the Victoria Falls to head back to Livingstone where I try to find a Malaria 6-pill treatment -as I do not take the preventive one. I’m planning to stay in Africa for a while and I do not want my body to keep the side effects for such a long period of time. Back to the camp, I still have to deal with the mosquitoes but also with the monkeys around. The next day is my last day in Livingstone and I just feel the need to walk around the town and to get to meet with the locals. Luckily, I could find a special place where artists and craftsmen express their imagination on the street. I have nice conversations with them and it makes me so happy. Then, I met Amanda, she’s been living in Livingstone for years with her 1-year old daughter Livia, they decided to bring me to friends of them in the countryside. It feels good to be out of town for a couple of hours. Their friends explain me how elephants destroy their home regularly and it breaks my heart. The sun is going down and Amanda let me drive her car back to the camping. The day after, I’m off to Kafue National Park but the truth is I will never make it. On the way, I discovered that I lost all my writings about the preparation of the solo expedition as well as my first impressions of overlanding Africa solo. I’m sad and not very focused so I will drive 5oo km to Namwala instead. Anyway, I’m falling in love with Zambia days after days.
