  1. $1,000 USD, no, unless you're willing to make serious adjustments in the way you live. Plus, most guys want to buy a bike, that means an accident. So you need to have a way to pay the hospital bills. It was nice of you to share the other YouTube channels with us.

  2. To live comfortably, you need $2,500.-$3,000. per month! If you are over 65, it would be good idea to check the cost of health insurance! Don't buy into the $1,000. hype! Anyone can live in the mud with the mosquitos in a bamboo sided hut for less.

  3. My monthly expenses in Mindanao for a family with 2 kids
    – 3 room house rent $100
    – Food and so on $500
    – Electric and water $80
    – Internet 2 provider $60
    – Visa $40
    – Kids private school $100
    – Fun $300
So more or less $1200 monthly and we're living good.

    I like your Channel, great.👍👍👍

  4. Just to add, the difference between cost of living in the city and provinces are significant. $1000 USD in Manila isn't much, in Cebu where you are, it's ok. In the provinces or smaller cities in Mindanao? It's great.

  5. Id like to suggest people have $1500 like the first person said youll be a bit thin.

It isnt so much you cant live on 1000 but at 1k youre definitely warching where every dollar is going. You'll have to live farther from amenities and give up some things. Eating out every day isnt feasible unless youre eating off the streets.

At 1.7k you can run AC 24/7 which is something most foreigners want to do. Live closer and can take grab / taxi more often than learning and using the bus systems here.

EVERYONE should have health insurance and a small emergency fund prior to trying to live off 1k. You come here living paycheck to paycheck on 1k a month youll be homeless after the first emergency.

bonus picking the right man or woman will determine how well your life goes. Do not pick a bar girl unless you can afford to pay for a bar girl.

Find a good girl and her ability to help in day to day interactions and cooking will pay for her costs easily.

  6. i'm living in pattaya, vlogging but looking for a change, what do you see the major differences from thailand vs philippines, i feel isolated here maybe due to the language barrier & hard to make friends, thanks mate

  7. Just an observation off topic, Americans and Canadians always comment on the bad teeth of Europeans…..The 2 persons in this vlog that really had bad teeth were the last 2 an American and a Canadian, just saying….

  8. Of course you can, you can live on $300 if you live in a tent or in the streets and just spend your money on food but would you want to 🤷‍♂️. I like the city and wouldn’t try to live there on under $2k, luckily I have more than that. Makati/BGC better to have $3k pm for a good life.

  9. You really have to take about 1/2 of the budget videos with a pinch of salt. I really feel some are simply trying to present themselves as being a frugal person to their subscribers, hence the $1,500 USD per month. It's really the message other future Expats wanna hear and it gets them views.
(Some of these guys have a car, multiple bikes, they travel, and the list goes on) ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️.

And their Filipina lives with them too…
