  1. I will disagree with one thing: for the vast majority of history, Poland and Germany coexisted in model peaceful relations. Yes, several disasters have happened between us that affect this image, but it's a fact

  2. Fun Fact: Most of eastern Germany was inhabited by western Slavic tribes up to Hamburg and that's why a lot of cities and villages there have Slavic sound like names but germanized now. Even Berlin delivers its name from a proto-slavic word *brl which meant a swamp back then or the other one Bautzen (pol. Budziszyn originally "Budyšyn") and many many more…

    Greetings from Poland! 🤍❤

  3. I think it is nonsensical to compare Poland and Germany, especially in terms of economy and population.
Poland was the most destroyed country by the wars, especially WW2, and right after that it was occupied by the russians and everything we had we had to give back to russia (it's still like that in russia now, even their regions have to give back 90% of their income to Moscow). Germany got money to rebuild the country after the war and Poland got nothing. Poland regained its independence only in 1989 and the first years were difficult for the Poles – the transition from a centrally controlled economy to capitalism was very difficult and costly, especially for the poorer part of society (it is always so, that when there is a crisis, the rich manage and the poor do not manage).
But after going through this difficult path and thanks to the EU, Poland started to develop. Thus, we have at least 40 years that we lost through the USSR in relation to Germany and its development. And I would like to remind you that Poland did not receive any money for reconstruction after the war – among other things thanks to Poles, who emigrated during that time and worked hard in various countries all over the world and sent money to Poland to their families, Poles somehow survived the difficult times. As far as the population is concerned, the issue of WW2 also affected our population and cultural diversity (the Germans murdered 6 million Poles, 3 million of whom were Jewish).

  4. I have been living in Germany for a decade. I'm Polish. I have never experienced so many bad words towards me in my life, just because I am Polish. Germans hate Poles sincerely. If someone talks about German-Polish friendship, he is lying. The Germans would strangle Poles with their bare hands. Germans are a vile nation and they do not accept any other nations. For them, Poles are thieves and disabled people, Americans are "AMIS", Italians and Greeks never work, they just lie around all day. A German says: Why are Italians so short? Because while waiting in line for work, the gravity of the earth made them smaller. Germany is an intolerant, cunning, arrogant and hypocritical nation. I've had enough of Germans and I'm going back to Poland next year. In Poland, I may earn less money, but I will have friends with whom I can go out for a beer, with whom I can talk about more than just the weather and work, and I will be able to freely say that I am gay (because in Germany it is a serious mistake to talk about homosexuality at work). I went to Germany because the image of Germans as open, tolerant and educated people made me understand that I should live there. But I made the biggest mistake of my life.

  5. Somewhen I learned that "Fenster" is not a german word. It's a loan word as there are so many. Today I've learned that Grenze is also not a german word but a slavic.

  6. Fun to watch you guys 🙂 Love your reflections – Something that was not mentioned, Poland for 50 years since WWII was under Soviet rule – so you may look for the impact of Soviet rule by learning about the East and West Germany – basically countries in the Soviet block had little development for 50 years

  7. Like all our smaller neighbors around Germany , the Poles suffer from existential fears and a desire to distinguish themselves. We play better football, our food is better, our women are more beautiful, we are funnier, our music is more popular. 😂We Germans are a stable democracy in the heart of Germany, we neither stir up envy nor do we have to distinguish ourselves at the expense of others.
I can't really think of much more to say about Poland, if the PIS wins next week's elections, Poland will become a right-wing populist dictatorship. What I wonder is with whom the Poles want to be friends, they hate Putin, they also think Europe is shit, but they like to take our money and the only friend is the USA on another continent.💩 The young Poles will emigrate even more in droves. The brain drain will continue.

  8. Poland won WWII and Germany lost. While Poland was given by Roosevelt and Churchil as a gift to Stalin and was forced to become a Communist country North Korea style for 50 years, no war reparations too, the majority of Germany was a free, democratic country, that was given every help possible from the US and European countries: A lot of money from Marshall Plan (from the US), 10 years after the war, they were in NATO (in 1955), they joined EU 4 years prior (in 1941). Trials of wealthy Nazi families were a mockery and if you look at the past of Porshe, Audi, Meecedes, BMW, Leibnitz, Hugo Boss, Bayer etc, their founders or their kids were Nazis (There is a nice book about it, called „Nazi Billionaires” by David de Jong).
