(4K, 2023) Air Corsica ATR 72-600 (F-HXKY) summer morning start-up and takeoff from Runway 04R at Nice Cote d’Azur, France, operating flight XK101 to Ajaccio, Corsica, in late July 2023. Skip to the takeoff at timestamp 03:35. A stunning morning for a short hop across the Mediterranean to the island of Corsica. Blue sea, blue sky, and the summer sun as we turn and climb away from Nice, with a brilliant view of the airport as we turn South; it makes for a beautiful setting. This aircraft was only two months old at the time, yet the windows were unfortunately quite dirty with dust from sand! This was my first time on Air Corsica, and my first time in Corsica itself. It also happened to be my first flight on an ATR since before the pandemic – I love this aircraft! I had wanted to try one of these island-hopping flights from Nice since I was a child, in the days of Air Littoral; they no longer exist of course, but thankfully Air Corsica still operates flights from Nice to all the major cities in Corsica.
