I met with friends at the Hangover Bar on Sukhumvit Soi 22 and Stella’s Secret bar on Soi 43. The next day I headed over to The Smokin’ Pug on Soi 20. I got caught in a Bangkok, Thailand rain storm.

  1. If you enjoy checking out Bangkok and other SE Asia spots, consider subscribing. I'll continue to make videos showing the streets in Bangkok and beyond. Thailand is amazing and a great place to visit, work or retire. I'll do my best to show you how to live affordably in SE Asia. Plus, enjoy some great side trips from Bangkok.

  2. Hey Joe! Came across your channel about a month ago and really enjoy your take on daily Bangkok life and dealing with things like the rainy season and navigating different parts of town. Maybe a thought for a future video: Describing how life has changed for you moving from On Nut to Phrom Pong?Imagine there’s just more of everything close at hand, but would be interesting to hear your perspective. Giving serious thought to making Bangkok my home base and trying to figure out what neighborhoods have what advantages over others. Thanks for taking the time to share your daily excursions and insights!

  3. Hey Joe, A subscriber to your channel and moved to Bangkok about 2 months ago from Dallas. Love your channel and keep up the good work !!! Regarding the expat meetup on Sat at Hangover, what time do you folks get together? Thanks and keep up the good work!!!

  4. G'day Joe. Thanks again for your videos. Are you sure your not connected with Google maps in some way as I was only taking a virtual walk down that way on google street view 12 hours ago looking for the Korean BBQ, lol. Is smokin'Pug new as I didnt see it on google maps? Took your advice and added a decent small umbrella to things to pack. Regarding Taxi vs Grab, when do use Grab instead of flagging down a Taxi, or do you only flag down a Taxi when its starting to rain and your caught out in the open? Regarding coming and going to the airport what do you prefer to use Taxi or train? Keep up the good work and I owe you more beers. Regards Mark

  5. Hey Joe. I need to get your thoughts please. Did you let Navy Federal Credit Union know you were going to be moving permanently to Thailand or did you just change your address to whatever it is and just move? The reason I ask is because I have been reading some articles on the internet that say "Change your address to a trusted family member or friend when you move oversees, but don't let your bank know" Thanks in advance. Really enjoyed the "Sukhumvit Soi 24" video. Gave me a lot of new options I did not know were available.

  6. Hey Joe!! Thanks for the information on keeping the address discreet for the bank. I'm curious though… I watched your video when you talked about monthly transfers and saving money on the fees. You gave an example of I think twelve months worth of transfers from Navy Fed. You may have answered it already, but I don't recall. Did they ever ask… why so many monthly transfers to Bangkok are you living there? Thanks in advance. Jeff…

  7. Great. Thanks Joe!! That's good news about Navy Federal. Gives me some piece of mind. Will keep a backup as well as you pointed out. Good luck on the experiment with the transfers throughout the year. Hopefully the US $ will stay high, so you will have many chances to come out ahead. :o)
