The World’s Largest Flower – Rafflesia is a totally parasitic flower. Rare, other-worldly, exotic, the beautiful rafflesia flower is a real treat for those lucky enough to see it when traveling in Southeast Asia.
This flower, found in relative abundance in the rainforests of Borneo island, grows on only one type of vine. The only visible part of the plant is a single flower that has no leaves, stems or roots.
Early February, Dear Alyne took a spontaneous trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia in search for the Rafflesia. We quickly put together a trip to go hunting and shooting this rare bloom.

Check out this day tour from Kota Kinabalu that stops by at one of the blooming spots. No guaranteed viewing though as this flower blooms only 3 – 5 days.
