Thank you to everyone who sent in their questions! Sorry I couldn't answer them all but if everyone enjoyed it, maybe I can do another soon!

  2. That election bit was really interesting. It was a very intimate and sincere look at a Japan we outsiders almost never see. Features done by the media are either very sensationalized or neutral and matter-of-fact. The nearest Japanese videos I could compare them to are NHK's 72 hours programs which I also mostly like.

  3. Hi Ryotaro, I saw an image of Rinnoji at 14:28! When I lived in Sendai, I would visit that temple/garden very often during the year because there is something to see in every season! My favorite was the irises in late Spring/Summer! By the way, I think Sendai is underrated!

  4. I don't understand why anyone would want to move to Tokyo either. It's loud, busy, the trains are packed, the people have no manners, and it smells like shyte. Literal shyte. Sewage. I could be blind and I'd always know when I've arrived at a major station in Tokyo because they all smell like shyte.

  5. Hi Ryotaro, great video. I watch your videos, because Chris Broad pays me to watch them and write nice comments. Keep the videos coming, because Chris Broad keeps paying me to watch. Yeah…

  6. two weeks definietly isn't enough especially for the first visit …
I'd say most people get a hell of a culture shock also time difference for people visiting from a non asian country is so high that you need to get around your jetlag first.
My first visit to Japan was 4 weeks and I only managed to visit Tokyo and Kyoto and doing some very short sidetrips to Kamakura and Nikko.

Especially now that the JR Pass is not feasable anymore you'd need some more time to get around by bus or cheap trains.

  7. no, 3 weeks is a must! i finally went to japan for the first this spring for about 3 weeks and i still didnt get to see everything id wanted too and mind you we stayed with a few different people who live there and helped us get around!!! which meant we got around better than any tourist would on their own. anyways 2 weeks of the trip was the whole kyoto/hiroshima/tokyo thing and1 week being rural japan. so overall the trip was amazing but id of needed 4 weeks to see everything i wanted to on the first trip!

  8. „People don‘t visit Okinawa“.

It‘s my second trip to Japan, I left Ishigaki-jima yesterday, spend some days in Hiroshima now, and then I‘ll visit Naha for the first time. So I guess I‘m not one of those „people“. 😎

  9. I saw you met Crazy Japanese today. Forgive me for spelling your name wrong. But also you are too handsome. Arigatou for everything you do. 💖🌸

  10. お葬式のビデオが大好きです!My favorite video you made so far is the one about dying in Japan and funerals. I hope you make more videos like you said about things that really only Japanese people see and experience.

  11. Hello Rizzataro-san! Not sure why I'm still calling you that? It has become endearing 😁 Anyway, this was a good video. Happy Belated Birthday! Please make more Fun and Humorous content soon with the guys as you dominate them! And just Enjoy the Journey discovering new things everyday! Cheers! Let us know when you are coming to NYC 😋✌️

  12. I actually have a good question: You say you want to do more documentaries? You have great wisdom and insight about Japan from a global traveler perspective. Could you please do a video on the History of the Senkaku Islands and why the evil CCP falsely claims them and wants to steal them? Also would you please consider doing a documentary about nearby Taiwan 🇹🇼 to share your thoughts about Taiwanese travel and unique culture? We would GREATLY appreciate learning more through your eyes as you travel those places! I also feel that those videos could greatly benefit and inspire others around the world and will definitely help to grow your subscribers and your channel reputation. I know you will do such a good job! Ganbatte! THANK YOU so much Tomodachi! 🙏😁

  13. I have ANOTHER TERRIFIC IDEA for you Ryotaro-senpai! As you know it was a sad tragic moment last July 8th when Shinzo Abe-san was brutally assassinated. Around the world, we were saddened by the news and cried and mourned deeply for our Great friends, like you, in Japan suddenly and unfairly dealing with such painful loss, and fear over such a cowardly action of uncalled for extremist violence. If you could please 🙏 We all have SO many questions as to how and why this happened, and how this loss affects the future of Japan? Many of us also know so little about the honorable Abe family legacy. We greatly enjoy watching your videos not only for your fun nature and witty humor, but also for your sincerity, kindness, and great wisdom. You earned our respect, and that's why many of us are loyal subscribers. Besides your trusted perspective, we know that you also know many influential people across Japan and around the world. Ryotaro-senpai, would you please 🙏 consider making a full length documentary regarding Abe-san. It's totally good for Chris and you to work together on this, but please 🙏 you come in front of the camera! Both of you. Chris can give his reactionary feelings as a foreigner living in Japan. You can then alternate with him and share your thoughts and feelings. And you would be perfect in interviewing other Japanese people to gain their thoughts on why this happened, how did this change Japan and affect the rest of the Free World, and what the strong resilient Japanese people have done in the aftermath to Move Forward towards building a brighter future in spite of that terrible event. It would also be great to know more about Abe-san… what was he like in person? What did he believe strongly in? What good things did he do for the Japanese people? What legacy has he left behind? Are you able to interview his friends or family? The mainstream media did not answer much of our questions, at least not in the knowledgeable way that I BELIEVE YOU CAN. IF you require more of my feedback to help with this project, PLEASE 🙏 do not hesitate to reach out to me. We can exchange email or zoom call. ANY help I can give to you and Chris, any more ideas I can share on this very special and important project I am happy to volunteer my time and service to you. I believe Ryotaro-senpai that you can do an AMAZING heart felt job on this documentary, working together with Chris. The video and editing does not have to be perfect. The most important part would be sharing your heart and mind, and the hearts and minds of the Japanese people who you select to interview for commentary. ❤ What has happened as result a year after this event? How is the direction Japan is moving in now? What is the future result or outlook? How did this change or effect Japanese people? What, if anything, can sympathetic outsiders like us do to help support Japan, to help make Japan great again, and to help continue Abe-san's good works and enduring legacy? We are very eager to hear your thoughts and to know if you will accept this assignment? Needless to say your subscribers will absolutely explode and grow exponentially with such a great project as this, with Chris and you working together. But the MAIN important benefit, is by making this documentary video, you will personally deliver TREMENDOUS Value and Benefit by informing, touching and connecting so many like-minds all around the entire Free world! I am sure without a doubt this documentary of yours will become a most watched video of all time! THANK YOU so much Senpai if you would be willing to do this very important special assignment for all of us your loyal viewers and supporters! 🤗♥️✌️ THANK YOU again tomodachi. God Bless You!

  14. It was very lovely sitting down and having a chat with you ^-^ i like the documentary direction a lot and am excited for it. an insiders perspective on things is still something rare when it comes to japan content

  15. Ryotaro, as someone who has watched you ( on that "other channel") and always enjoyed sll your quips…please slow down. I am used to you, and I'm really hoping your channel is a hit ( remember the other guy was on years before he really took off). So for those who just plugged in we dont want them to miss anything from someone who knows. You not me😉

  16. Given the cash-based nature of Japan, how do you make a large purchase in Japan? Do car dealerships expect you to show up with 2 million in crisp fresh cash? what about a large bill from a restaurant, hotel, or other service? Do merchants who sell HIGH priced things expect cash or no?

  17. Please make a video about your explosion trip!
If you take Chris with you, then you can have him experience the explosion "from real up close"… 😇

  18. 16:00 if you finish whole series your documentary.
You could offer it to broadcast any boring Japanese TV for real
Suddenly you become to be more famous than any YouTuber in Japan 😅

  19. Hope you'll find the time to film more inside stories (they were really interesting) besides shenanigans.

BTW the Aussies at TC might help with that accent (Dr. Jelly seems to not be in Japan a lot hahaha)

  20. I’ll just answer why I watch your channel as well as others. It’s really the closest I can get without going there. And I have a fear of traveling there without any knowledge. Not to mention I can’t afford the trip I want there, so I get to take a glimpse of things I can’t see right now in real life.

  21. I would strongly disagree as the quality of food in Japan is so higher than the rest of the world, so it doesn't matter what recipe you will bring from there…. It most definitely won't be same as you most likely will have to adjust and make changes at best….

  22. Where is the best place to go in Japan for someone who has never been to Japan and has the Japanese language levels of a one year old child, Sendai?? Tokyo??

  23. I think Yamagata Prefecture which is not so popular place among foreign tourists may be very underrated. Because this area is rich in nature, and has many hidden tourist spots such as Mt.Zao, Yamadera, Mogami river, Zenpouji temple, Mt.Haguro, Uesugi shrine, Kaminoyama onsen, Takahata winery and Kumano shrine.Yamagata city has the highest consumption of ramen in Japan, so there are many restaurants offering high-quality ramen🍜.
It is also famous for Yamagata or Yonezawa Wagyu beef, Sangen pork, mutton, taro, rice, soba, ball type konnyaku, Dadacha-edamame, cherries, pears, and sake. Prices are also affordable.

  24. this was so fun!!! hope you can visit toronto, canada one day too and hope that I can visit Sendai and some of the places you've mentioned in your videos too!!! it would be my 6th time in japan so I really want to explore more amazing areas every time i visit!!!!
