    Mistral Tango on our #Outremer 52



    In this week’s video we share how we danced a sailing tango with the Mistral and went back and forth to try to get somewhere, anywhere at all on our Outremer 52 sailing catamaran. We get rain and 42 knot winds and visit lovely Port Grimaud and Saint-Tropez.

    Hello! We are Holly and Stephane 🇺🇸🇫🇷

    We have made the transition from full-time software professionals from the SF Bay Area to liveaboard sailing explorers who always keep one eye on the weather and our hearts in a song. Our goal is to complete a circumnavigation and we recently transitioned to a performance catamaran and are madly in love with our Outremer 52. We are working with Outremer in France (with the help of Google translate) to launch our boat project and start our journey as sailing vagabonds. While it’s not a race or speedtest, we are doing our first Bluewater crossing this year and we are excited to see AWEN stretch her legs and dance on the water. Join us as we share what we’re learning living without Amazon, (but with Starlink), and attempt this new life of travel and adventure on the ocean. Please be patient with us as we continue to improve our YouTube vlogging skills. Our goal isn’t to make our life a movie, it’s to give back to what others have shared with us, which is why we don’t monetize our channel.

      I say this as someone from a French-speaking country. Good luck trying to get a Frenchman to stop eating a beautiful pastry. You'd need a high-pressure water-cannon and perhaps a tazer to have even a slight chance…

      Louis Vuitton bag? I just saw on obe of (inimitable) (quintessential French) Lous Prigent, at the Fashion Shiw, that Louis Vuitton made a full leather, gorgeous bag, that copies their famous paper bag… you needed to know that. Well, Holly did. 😊

      With Stephanes height and metabolism, he can probably eat all the pastry he wants… his blood sugar, on the other hand, but not for another 40 years. So… go for it, vas-y, tu paieras plus tard! 😊

      Thank you for showing the real (frustrating) life on a boat. Too much wind, not enough wind, big waves, plans delayed, french pastries, perfect wind right on the nose, gremlins in the electronics. All part of sailing. 😊

      Frustrating to leave, only to come right back; looked like it was a good idea! I thought Stefan had a sweet tooth after the "O'Kelly – Cannes Cookie Caper", now I see it's not just one sweet tooth, it's all of them! 🤣Fair winds…
