I finally moved on from Luang Prabang after 16 days! My next destination was the hedonistic backpacker town of Vang Vieng.
Vang Vieng found itself with a bad reputation in 2011 when 27 tourists died from tubing-related accidents. The bars on the river offered free drinks and drugs and the town had to clean up its act.
It might not be the party town that it once was but it still has plenty to offer those looking for a wild time. ‘Happy’ bars still provide special menus with a selection of drugs available.
There is a dark side to Vang Vieng which I will discuss in the next video.
Join me as I go tubing, caving and enjoying the night life of Vang Vieng.

Looked like a cool location. How's the phone? Stick it in some rice to dry out.
