We move on from Germany and into the Netherlands at Camping Valkenberg Masstricht. A local road closure threw a fairly large spanner at us!

  1. Gosh that looked a tough drive! And finding the campsite was a bit of a nightmare At least you made it in the end.
Went out on our first trip this weekend and realise how many tips we learned from you two both in driving and setting up
    Thank you Bob and Jenny
    Safe travels.

  2. Once again a star keeping cool. I think i will start to take a map as roadworks even in the UK can affect journeys as i found out driving to cornwall a road sign said ignore Sat Nav and it was right !!

  3. Wow what a stressful journey you both kept far more patient than I would have! Sometimes it’s harder to see being on wrong side of the road or working out where junctions are or what is going on isn’t it
Glad you are there safely and the campsite looks fantastic and again so clean there looks plenty to do on site as well
Many happy memories of valkenburg and we stayed often at the hotel op de bord such a great town and love the castle! Have a fabulous time all of you and travel
    Safely Daniel

  4. Unfortunately the closed road was a real challenge for us both on arrival. It's always easy when you get to know the area and it seems the next day the road was open again… Just our luck. The walk to the station was fine but the walk back was anything but fine with the long hill and unexpected error that added another 30 minutes to the walk back. We were certainly glad of that cool beer when we got back to the vans in the early evening. We liked this site but it was a little cut off from public transport links and would probably suit caravanners better than motorhomers. I am not sure that this campsite will be on our list to go back to in future. Nevertheless, we had a good time and made some memories along the way. 😃 Trev
