      I too have found food in Europe to be very bland. Maybe it's because I love to cook and I grew up in Louisiana. The worst food I ever had was in England. Food in Paris was the best I've found in Europe.

      Nice roundup, and now you're back I bet you're wondering what all the worrying about leaving mum for a week or so was about. She was probably glad of the rest! LOL

      Food is so subjective. Personally, I really don't like chilli/spicy food, but then again, but I love a Tom Yum Kung/Talay, and Moo Tawd with sticky rice and no Sri Racha chilli sauce is unthinkable! 🤣🤣 I like to make Nam Tok with a lot of lime juice (I really like salty and sour tastes), and will sometimes even add sliced tomatos for a bit of "umamai" taste! It's all very personal. Very often a "fusion" dish can taste better to me than a truly native dish, which you seemed to experience with the pizzas and a couple other dishes. (I love Pizza Company too, but rarely eat it… my waistline complains too much!) I like westernised Chinese food, and when I was in China was often disappointed by the food. I'm also probably the only Brit who doesn't like Indian food, but I am told that's the same; British Indian food is apparently very different to Indian (careful not to write "native" there! 😉) food. Again, it's so personal, but people (especially in the west) get so uptight if you have a differing opinion these days!

      Well I visited France for two weeks every years. I rented a car and toured. You can drive to Italy in one dad. You can drive to Spain in one day. I loved it.
      Then in 2020 Covid came and couldn’t go in 2020 and 2021. To me it was always safe. No one can own a gun. Only hunters and they have to leave their guns at police statio.

      Sorry you find Mexican food in Texas to be bland. Tex-Mex is NOT Mexican food. Every state or province in Mexico just like in Thailand they have different dishes and definitively are not bland!

      Thank's for mentioning smoking on the boat! Sexy to smoke?! I think this depends where in Europe. I live in Scandinavia where smoking is not cool at all! Actually smoking is restricted in restaurants, pubs and other meeting places. I would myself not pay for cruise with ashtrays everywhere. That would annoy the hell of me 😅 Better with dedicated smoking rooms or dedicated smoking areas outside.

      Great recap Chuck.
      As a european (not Spaniard, French nor Italian) let me give my observation. No critic, only my viewpoint.
      I have never been to Barcelona, so I skip comments on that 🤣.
      France : french people have a tendency to 'rant' a lot. So that might make them appear less 'friendly at first sight' And of course you can't compare Cannes or Villefranche with the Colosseum or even the leaning tower… But come back to France one day and visit other landmarks you will see so much nice things there too.
      And Pizza… Yes… Thin crust is indeed the traditional pizza. And in italian restaurant they usually provide you with spicy oil to add on it, so you decrease the 'blandness'.
      And last but not least a bit of blatant self-promotion 555 next time come to visit Belgium.. On of the smaller countries in European but with so manu nice place to see and nice things to eat. I will promise you it will not be a mistake…

      Hello, enjoyed seeing Brent and Lori again. Can u put Lori utube please l have lost her. Lovely women. Beautiful couple. There is so much more in Europe Chuck will astound you. Get Lori to look at following the Rhine down to rhinefall . Either by boat or along side. It’s spectacular river between Germany & France. Ending in Switzerland. The food is amazing. The beer & wine is excellent. As l always say treat people as you hope to be treated & you get what you give. Look at visiting the Black Forest in Germany beautiful housing & towns. Lots of history & wonderful food. So many places in Europe to visit. P Uk x

      It's good to have you back in Thailand Chuck:) . I am from Budapest Hungary 🙂 . I am relocating to Thailand for a lifetime to clear my head out it will do me world of good :). By the way thank you for making my day better:) . I will sell everything up in Hungary then I will move to Thailand for better lifestyle :). I will be working 3 jobs in Thailand 1. Car Valeting, 2. Construction and 3. Electrican so I can support myself and buy some weed and whisky at the same time :). Sorry for long reply I will move forward and I will never ever step foot in Europe :). It's long story I will tell you everything I lost my pet Choccy dog 10 years ago (Brown Cocker Spaniel ) My Uncle's dog 7 years ago (Morzsi) including my late grandparents (Toth Vendel and Varga Maria) and my neighbour 2 years ago (Bella Baci) I moved on super quickly and never looked back 🙂 . Personally I rather die in Thailand in heartbeat than going back to Europe 🙂 . Take Care Chuck and have an good day. 🙂
