The 24th flag on our car, the highest mountain (volcano) of Bolivia (Sajama), a village orchestra, lots of lama and some washboardsβ¦
Last week we completed the hardest physical challenge of our lives: summiting Huayna Potosi (6088m). This week we head direction one of the most famous landmark of Bolivia: the Uyuni Salt flats, Salar de Uyuni! We have been thinking of this place since even before setting foot on the Americas.
Not everything went as planned and our choice of road have not necessarily paid off as we hoped it would, but as usual the changes also created opportunities. We let you discover all of this.
Thank you for travelling with us, you should love what is coming up next week! We are heading toward the legendary Laguna route between Bolivia and Chile. To be sure you do not miss what is coming up, subscribe to the channel!

I'm no expert, but with all the problems the earth has, I don't think a little human poop will make that much of a difference.
How many languages does each of you speak?
I enjoy and love your videos π€©
So excited for you! How fun running into friends and for the next part of your adventure!
Merci Nick and Matilde, what a video. You are going next level each week. Bon Chance.
just poop where you need to do it?π
As always GREAT DRONE FOOTAGE. GREAT ASPECT
To give some perspective as to how huge the salt flat is: 10,000 sq km = 3861 sq miles. The ENTIRE States of Delaware, AND Rhode Island, AND the City of Houston Tx will fit there with room to spare! Puerto Rico is 3459 Sq miles. The Bonneville Salt flats in Utah is a measly 46 Sq miles.
Thatβs a lot of salt! Ya I would be hosing it down like crazy once I got out of it. Living in northern Michigan and going to the car wash all through winter, the cars and trucks still start rusting in like 6 years. It was still cool too see though.
So amazingly trip you had. Godspeed Nick and Matilde
Very creative artistic video. I am not a fan of the Salt Flats it just seems like such a waste of space, but like always if you did a great job with the video and it just adds to your amazing adventure! ππ»ππ»β€ππ»ππ»
Just poop π© on the Salt Flats and it will turn into a salted turd. A wild animal will carry it off for late-night snack. Rodents eat human poop. π€πππ
The Salt Flats do get covered with water a few months out of the year. There is still water underneath the Salt Flats.
Another amazing video! Mathilde, I bet you were loving the drive on the Salar with no traffic! The ending of the video has hilarious π
Incredible amounts of salt, loved the video β€β€
Super lady much love.shamim zahuri from bangladeshπ§ββοΈπ€΄ππ€ππ―π
Albo in that salt gives me the creeps.
Please wash it every chance you can in a salt free area until you feel confident. I like Albo a lot, and would hate for it to be eaten up. The fine salt dust off the tires gets everywhere and has to be wiped down with a damp rag several times.
it's sneaky.
I'd like to see you get Albo through the whole trip, and back home in one piece.
I mentioned we used to race $100 pieces of crap cars on our local salt lake, and they rusted away in months.
Next season we would get another junker for the new season. The only rules were it had to cost no more than $100, and you had to drive it stock.
Great fun for a bunch of young hippies 49+ years ago π
Beautiful landscape and perfect music for the scenery congratulations for the movie πΏ amazing love everything ππππππͺπͺπͺ
Besides the as usual excellent video, the photos with tiny Albo were fun!π
wow very nice experience friend
Fantastic β€
Hola. Fuerte abrazo
This video was so much fun to watch. You guys can take a boring landscape with very long drives and make it fun, interesting, and beautiful. Drama, romance, comedy, beaury, education, reality. Your videos have it all, and I know you work hard to make it happen for us to enjoy. Thank you so much. What a treasure of memories you are making. You're in my prayers. God bless!
Unbelievable beautiful, what an experience!
Somehow the two of you make every place you visit so interesting. Interesting story about the creation of the salt flats. You two manage to meet people in the middle of nowhere….must be your magnetic personalities.
Wilderness is pronounced.. WILL-DER-NESS…..not WILD-DER-NESS.
cool
Love your videos! Could you show us, who live in light polluted cities (NYC) what a truly dark night sky looks like? I saw a dark sky once and there were so many stars, I wasn't able recognize any constellations. "Keep on truckin".
That was serious salt! Thatβs when itβs time to poop in a bag and carry it out. Yuck!
What a breathtaking landscape! All the best!
Another great video. πππthe ending. ππ»
What an amazing video. I really enjoy your perspective in each video. You never know who you will encounter and I believe it is destiny when the unexpected occurs. Continues safe travels to you both!!!
TrΓ¨s drΓ΄les ces photos. Encore des superbes images et encore un pays Γ ajouter dans la liste des destinations Γ faire. Il va falloir prendre des jours sans solde pour tout faire π’. Profitez bien
What an amazing adventure! Bravo! I enjoyed all the videos very much. Good to know you will also travel to south east asia. I wonder whether kuala lumpur is in your road trip plan.
This recent tendency toward a musical soundtrack has not made the videos more watchable. Lower decibel level, please. How about using some tracks from the locality you are in? For example, Bolivia has a great musical heritage and contemporary culture that would enhance the visuals you are showing here.
Awesome video as always Nick and Matilda. The salt flats were so spectacular. The road y'all are going to next in y'all's adventures is it the famous Bolivian death road?
