A fun fact: yesterday it was like all stars aligned – all attractions were open!
… Just before Fata Morgana and Vogel Rok went (back) into maintenance.
Oh well. That's indeed open all year. But just so you know: sometimes – if you're lucky – all attractions are open.
37:43 Sort of. Let me explain. First of all the location where Sprookjesbos started at the big castle, which is currently rebuilding, to the square at 40:22, het Herautenplein.
That was 1952. A year before that there was a playing garden and a teahouse. Yes, a teahouse. So in a another view the start was in 1951.
But on 18 mei 1935 the Catholic Sports & Walkingpark (R.K. Sport & Wandelpark) opened where the Efteling now is. So in another view it started in 1935.
Three starts. How old is the Efteling? 71, 72 & 88 years old this year. But at least Castle – Herautenplein, not near the gnomes, that was later.
56:14 Correction, the ride system is by Intamin, that much is true.
It isn't build by Intamin only. And it is of course, designed by the Efteling. In fact, the ride system was made by Intamin, but 'installed' by others. Just like the buidling was made by others.
It's much like you come back from Ikea basicly. That desk wasn't made by Ikea. It was made by you. You put monitors, cameras, keyboards, mice, etc on it.
Not just 'build by Ikea' (althoug there's a service for that, but er) Hence, not just Intamin. Efteling, Intamin, and several contractors.
56:21 I've got the feeling I already said this is 'In den Swarte Kat' – which is older spelling and wiki capitalisation (which I am a fan of), but in Dutch that's "In de zwarte kat".
Which would be 'In the Black Cat' – or in UK capitalisation 'In The Black Cat' (thanks, I hate it).
So much ado about text in the Efteling. I love those details.
Long neck wasn’t on in July 😢 lucky we’re going back in December 😂🎉
The dragon is not a he..but a she her name is Edna, protecting her eggs..Not that it matters but yeah..Great vlog as always..Love you guys!
George and dragon looks awesome 😎

Sean you crack me up helix helix helix 😂
I really have to look into sorting out a trip to this park. It looks amazing 😀
Beside the fact that Halloween is the most stupid and useless celebration of the year (my personal opinion), it is TOTALLY NOT suitable for The Efteling, which is a familypark with lots of very small children, let's stick to fairytales that make children happy, Halloween creates the opposite effect! Great to see you both in the park again though and thumbs up!
I went to Efteling Oct 7th and it was saying that Vogel Rok was closed. At about 5pm, they decided to open the ride and I only knew because I saw the waiting time on the app.
I was really lucky, because it was my first visit and I was really looking forward to riding Vogel Rok 🙂
I still don’t know why they just decided to open it at the end of the day, but it was awesome! 😂
But I wasn’t lucky at all in regards to waiting times… the park was packed and the queue to Symbolica was over 60min the entire day! 😢😢
41:43 I love the talking tree at Eftling, but my friends don't. They have had nightmares and phobias on the talking tree at Eftling. But we are Americans. Most Americans don't take the time to visit Eftling or they get very few American visitors, but there is no way I am going to the Netherlands without visiting Eftling. I love the dark rides there.
Day 2 of asking them to go to djurssommerland 😅
YOOO WELCOME BACK AGAIN!! is toverland up next?
LOVED bumping into you guys at Islands of Adventure on Me Ship, The Olive and then watching your Vlog from the Efteling, my Hometown park <3 Soo cool. Enjoy your Theme Parks!

What an amazing looking park, it gives me Europapark vibes. Thanks for sharing it.
Looks like a great park!
Love Efteling. My Mum who is half Dutch used to visit when she was tiny and it was just the fairytale forest and park.
@32:25 has some Jurassic World: The Ride (Universal Studios Hollywood) vibes, but preceded it by two years!
Regarding the financial difficulties at one of the sub-contractors for the construction of the Efteling Grand Hotel: they were actually declared bankrupt in September. I have heard however that a few days ago the company has been purchased by a different company and that activities will resume. I don't know how this will affect construction of the hotel.
The construction sector in the Netherlands as a whole is going through difficult times at the moment, due to rising material costs and the fact the government has imposed very strict rules regarding the output of Nitrogen during construction. I work as an architectural drafter and even we have noticed work drying up due to uncertain conditions at our clients. It's actually a miracle the Efteling managed to get the licences to build both Danse Macabre and the Efteling Grand Hotel at the same time. I think it's due to the measures the park itself already takes to combat climate impact.
38:20 thats really a dutch accent i love watching efteling vlogs cause im dutch😅
39:10 if you know dutch its the funniest thing on earth like i was there 2 months ago and i didn't rember it and we were walking around "het sprookjesbos" when the attractions already closed we stood there and i laughed so hard i love that troll😂 (the name did good😂)
do you know why you were stuck in symbolica, because you have a screen at the front that you have to press, only if no one does that the tour does not continue
I love de Efteling ! 😊 .oOo. design & nature .oOo.
helix helix helix 😂
You need to take Charlotte to land of the legends again to go on turtle coaster I’m sure she will love it 😆😉
I like to see how much you enjoy the Efteling every time you visit it! I totally agree with you, it’s a great themepark! I live in Tilburg, a town near the Efteling, and I visit the Efteling as many times as I can!
Good to see you back here! 👍
Efteling is such an amazing park. It’s one of my favorites! Another great Vlog!
My favourite European park, I'd easily take this over Disneyland Paris.
Love this video, you are so well-informed about all the developments etc. As for Halloween, the Efteling has a policy of being ‘other-Wordly’: this means you won’t see any holiday-themed decorations in there. It’s part of the world-building. Christmas also doesn’t ‘exist’ in the Efteling, although you will see some snowy trees and presents in the Winter Efteling. But never Santa or Elves!
I dont like the Efteling. I have been there very often, and it feels like you're walking in a building cite.
When you know your way around, you can do what you want to do in 1 day 😉
If people come to Efteling for the first time, 1 day isn't enough!
I will be going with 3 babies next autumn vacation 2024 and we'll be staying there for 5 days in a 12 person Boshoeve!
Greetings from the Netherlands…
