Don't send money to anyone you have not met in person. People can say and be anything online, but they can be completely different in person. ALL the videos say a "good" Filipina will NEVER ask for money/material things, she will change the subject if he brings up money, will decline it if he offers it, the ONLY thing she wants is your time and attention. Studies show it takes 3-6 months for a person to get comfortable in a relationship and their TRUE self will show. Tell a woman right up front, you will NOT send money for ANY reason, if she's a scammer or can't remain humble, she'll leave, there are plenty of other gullible foreigners out there. If she agrees to that and sticks to it for a long time, you need to do all you can to keep her, and maybe send her a LITTLE bit of money to see how she reacts. If a Filipina gets offended by you saying that, too bad, she needs to get over it quick, it's her own people perpetuating the stereotypes and making foreigners cautious.

I agree on the allowance thing. If you haven't met her in person don't give her money. If you have met her in person and plan to marry her, then instead of giving her an allowance, put that money in a bank account that she can't touch (Say 5,000 pesos a month X 12 months X 20 years = 1.2 million pesos she'll have when you're gone, if you live and are together for 20 years). It's your job as a man to provide for HER (NOT her family/extended family/friends) while you are alive so there's no need for an allowance, you are there to provide for her needs. Putting money in the bank is planning to take care of her in the future when you're no longer there to do so, and hopefully you took the time to help teach her how to manage money and financial planning, so it'll last her a good amount of time. I also would tell her, and NO ONE else, she shouldn't tell her family she has all this money waiting, they'll have it spent before the foreigner is even gone.

Good points Gio…And the same goes for those who meet a Filipina online, before coming over. If they start asking for money in the first several conversations, you’re getting used. And if you really want to believe them when they say they need 3000 Pesos for their little sisters school books and uniform, send them 1500, and see what happens. If they start bitching they need the whole amount, ask them how they got the money last year, then kiss your 1500 Pesos goodbye…

It’s easily done when you see how poor and struggling they are. What starts off as a little help can gradually snowball into something you never expected or wanted. Having a young beautiful girlfriend can make older guys act differently to how they have always been before. We all, hopefully learn from our mistakes and experiences.

Let’s face reality. Most of the Filipina’s that are seeking online friends and potential partners are poor. I’m not saying all Filipina’s are poor but look at the data. The Philippines is overpopulated and full of people living in poverty. It should be obvious when the foreigner sees where she lives, learns about her family, about the fact that she has never traveled on a plane, never has a driver license, passport. Never had name brand tennis shoes.
So if she can get a foreigner to “retain” her. Perhaps she is going to be a good relationship when she finally meets her new boyfriend but perhaps she’s just trying to find someone to help her and she is willing to pretend she is in love but in reality she loves her new lifestyle and doing her time until that old fool dies.

To each their own but you have to live with it…. don't set a pattern or routine you can't maintain…..

I get your point and it’s well taken. I’ve been to the Philippines three times and coming for two months in January.. I’ve dated online filipina’s many times and also given or lost money in the process. Even had a two-year relationship with the same filipina met her two times and she still cheated on me later.. I also have rich older American friends, who have the same age, older wives, and the wives have taken full advantage of all the money the guy has. I also had a rich friend, who got married to a Golddigger American woman, and she ended up, killing him for his money, and she’s now serving life in prison.
