British Airways Trip Report flying from London to San Francisco, onboard one of the amazing British Airways A380’s, on a beautiful spring afternoon.
A very comfortable flight from London to San Francisco onboard the British Airways A380. We were lucky enough to have the middle seat empty during the flight which increased even more the comfort. However, I must say that the British Airways A380 cabin was the worst A380 cabin I’ve seen to date: the legroom could be better and the IFE is extremely outdated (not even tactile…).
We took off from Heathrow towards the east and quickly made a left turn to fly towards the north of England. We left the UK over the Glasgow area. From there we flew towards the south of Iceland and Greenland. We flew over the south of Greenland, next to Cape Farell. The views were more than amazing. We saw the Sea Ice, glaciers, mountains, bays… Greenland is one of the most amazing places in the World to see from the sky.
From there we crossed the Labrador Sea heading towards Canada. We reached Newfoundland and Labrador around 1h30min after Greenland. Here we could see again the Sea Ice. But this time it was the real one: millions of small pieces of ice floating over the sea, moved by the ocean currents. What a beautiful planet we have!
Afterwards, we flew over Quebec and Ontario, before entering the US. We flew over the States of North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, and, finally, California. We landed around 20 minutes late in San Francisco after a beautiful approach over the Bay.
About the onboard service, the lunch was served just after takeoff. There were 2 options: chicken or pasta. I took the chicken option. It came with some potatoes and beans. The salad was based on some cereal that I couldn’t identify. The dessert was a tiny chocolate mousse. It was tasty, but it was really small. Everything together was a very small portion.
1h before landing in San Francisco, which means around 8h after the first meal, the crew offered the second service. It really surprised me that it was again another full warm meal (without bread and butter). I chose the chicken option again. On this occasion, it was a chicken curry with rice. It came with a quinoa salad with a base of yogurt, and an apple crumble as dessert.
The most awkward moment of the flight, without a doubt, was when they passed the coffee & tea service. I asked for a coffee and when they passed it to me it fell completely over me. Luckily it wasn’t very warm and it didn’t injure me at all. They offered me a 1st Class pijama that you’ll be able to see on the Trip Report. The strangest moment in my more than 1.500 flights? Probably yes 🙂
Now it’s your turn! Have you ever flown with British Airways? How was your experience? Which route and airplane model? Have you ever flown in business class? Do you think it’s worth the money? Have you been in London? Maybe in Vienna? What was the most awkward situation you had on a plane?
Lots of things to talk about! Read you all in the comments!

Wonderful experience on London-Miami-London route last year also with A380. It was my first long-houl flight and I was aiming for the A380 flight. That route suited me just perfect because I had a cruise from Orlando. The BA crew did an outstanding job, the food was delicious, there was no shortage of drinks, just a wonderful experience. I am looking forward to book another flight with BA on one of the flights that are served with A380.
beautiful wing view beautiful bird Lovely report!
Qud bueno, y que interesantes son tus videos siempre muestras lo hermoso que es este mundo saludos 🇨🇴🇨🇴👍👍🤝✊😍
How rude. Hope he wasn’t British but there’s a good chance he was. Amazing out of window shots. How else would I have seen such beauty if you had not filmed it. Thank you. Stay safe. Best Regards. Mick🇬🇧
Those meals were tiny. It’s like giving an elephant a cherry. 👎🏻👎🏻 to British Airways for that.
Lovely video. Unbelievable the other passenger would leave HIS seat, take your aisle seat then ask you to close the blind. Horrible fool. Thanks. Derek, Scottish Highlands.
Another "entitled" flier. You did the right thing
Nice video. Food looked amazing, TBH. The porch climber who popped into the aisle seat, two words: F off OR Eye Shades. 😏
So that guy just set down on your free seats for demanding to close your window , how more provocative can one get , some people are really not right in their brains ,he was lucky I was not sitting there. But a great flight ✈️ trip again , BA. Is pretty good with their service .😊👍
you had a memorable flight soiled attire and annoying neighbor( how dare ). excellent cammera skills. very good trip report
Great video. I miss the 747’s. Would love to see you in the mirror next time 😊
as usual a superb review. enjoyed every miniute. Sorry to see what has happened to your cloths. 🙂
I also don't close the window, when I´m on it. You did good. Excellent video.
What fantastic footage of the ice around Greenland and Canada – just beautiful! The chap who took the aisle seat – what a cheek! I flew this flight on the same aircraft back in Feb 20 just before the pandemic – I was sat upstairs in economy, which was very tight – the groud floor has much more space due to the width of the fuselage at that point – upstairs the fuselage is narrowing and it's not very comfortable. Fortunately I got upgraded to Premium Economy which was very welcome and definitely worth paying for. The extra space, comfort and food etc was vastly superior – though sadly I didn't have a window seat – it was worth moving though. What a nightmare they spilled coffee all over you – a good job you weren't scalded that would have been very painful and a long wait for treatment.
Absolutely awesome vlog… sorry to note the coffee spilled on you , but nice of the crew to give you pyjamas…. and very funny on the Light barrier created by the fellow passenger… as usual the visuals over greenland and sea ice footage… the sights and sounds were awesome… big fan of your channel… keep it coming… thanks a lot.
You can be sure I love all your outside views with comments; I have a flying Geography teacher!
hola,
Brilliant video.
The people prefer trash movies instead of great nature views. Unbelieveable.
