Welcome to a Siem Reap travel vlog!
Join me on an unforgettable journey through the captivating city of Siem Reap, Cambodia. From the iconic temple of Angkor Wat to the local culture and cuisine, this vlog is your window to a world of adventure and exploration.
Out of everywhere I visited in Southeast Asia this year, Siem Reap was the cherry on top of the cake! As well as being home to the iconic and historic Angkor Wat temple, the largest temple complex in the world. Siem Reap is also a vibrant and very clean city that accomodates travellers with extremely luxurious hotels and resorts for the price of a European hostel!
Not to mention the nightlife, the food, the markets and overall bustling atmosphere to the city centre.
Honestly, I think Siem Reap has everything you could want from a family or solo trip for all types of traveller’s of all budgets.
ACCOMODATION:
The hotel I stayed in was a 5* resort called Eightfold Urban Resort and I only paid 40 GBP per night. They have hostels for less than 1 USD per night or 5* hotels for even cheaper than 40 GBP, so there really is something for every type of traveller.
ENTRY TICKETS:
A one day ticket to the temples of Siem Reap incl. Angkor Wat is 37 USD. You can also get passes for 3 days and 7 days. Tickets are mandatory and are checked very frequently whilst on the temple grounds. Whilst a little expensive, the money goes towards the restoration of these 12th Century marvels.
GETTING AROUND:
I would recommend you hire a driver when going to visit the temples.
But as for getting around the city, you can easily get a taxi/tuktuk using GRAB.
FLIGHTS:
Siem Reap does have an international airport, however most of these flights will be regional flights from Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur etc. Cambodia in general is not that easy to get to from Europe or America. But all you need to do is fly into Bangkok and hop on a quick 1hr flight.
Siem Reap was honestly so unexpected and beautiful and should 100% be on every traveller’s bucket list!
