Report from the World Travel Market

Welcome to Adventures with Sarah! World Travel Market report!
The WTM is now over and I’m on my way home. It was a fantastic experience, although extremely tiring.
We met with reps from Chile, Argentina, Korea, Tunisia, Vietnam, Italy, France, Netherlands, Greenland, and…..so many more I cannot even recall.
What you aren’t seeing in this video is the sheer scale of the event, spread over two huge hangars. You also miss seeing me scramble to get between meetings which were every half hour. We learned some lessons (group meetings in the same zone) and made some progress (excited about some new partners we’ve been searching for) and wasted some time, as not all introductions work out. That’s ok. We can’t do everything, all at once.
The surprise for me is a strong showing from the Baltics and a very weak showing from SE Asia. While it’s a little disappointing, it helps to thin and advance our vision for 2025.
I’ve never been to a trade show before. After all, I’ve been a tour guide, which is the foot soldier of the industry. It’s been quite the mental leap to realize I’m a general rather than a foot soldier, and I have the ability to think big and connect my travelers to places they never thought they could go.
I’m so energized by this week, and grateful for the European Tour Operators Association, who always support me. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
