Established on October 6, 1951, it is a four-year national university currently located in Buk-gu, Daegu Metropolitan City and Sangju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

It’s a large comprehensive university with colleges such as the College of Medicine, College of Dentistry, College of Pharmacy, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Business and Economics, College of Education, College of IT, and College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, as well as general and professional graduate schools.

Campuses are located in several areas, including Sangyeok Campus where the university headquarters is located, Dongin Campus where the College of Nursing, College of Medicine, and College of Dentistry are located, Sangju Campus, College of Medicine Biomedical Science Museum, Chilgok Medi Campus where Chilgok Kyungpook National University Hospital is located, and Gunwi Campus. .
