Our first trip together abroad. Meeting with local friends, attending a wedding and exploring some rural parts of Hong Kong

In our Hong Kong vlog, things are getting a lot more personal. The main objective of this trip was to attend the wedding of my friend from my university exchange year in Japan seven years ago and also to meet my other friends from that time. This trip is also very special for us because it was our first trip together abroad. At the time of filming we had been together for five months. We spend five days in Hong Kong during which in addition to socializing with my friends we explored a bit the city and some rural areas around. As it is probably very obvious from our previous videos, we prefer visiting nature and historical locations, which of course applies also to this vlog, but we can enjoy the vibe of big cities too. Kan likes tasting new food, especially if it is spicy, and Hong Kong is a perfect place for that. As you can see, the vlog is very random, because except for the wedding there has been no plan, which adds certain adventure aspect to it. Thank you very much for watching! We hope you will like it!

A brief summary of our trip:
Day 1: From Kyoto to Hong Kong, evening tea and sunset with friends
Day 2: Preparing for the wedding in the morning (not filmed) and later shooting a time lapse at Victoria Peak using a two camera set up. The final result is included.
Day 3: Wedding day. Wedding Ceremony in Church during midday and Wedding Banquet in the evening
Day 4: Lamma Island. Most of this vlog is about day 4. We took a ferry from Central to a small idyllic fishing town Yung Shue Wan and explored it for a day. You will see us exploring the streets of the small village, enjoying the nature of the place, tasting some local food and also getting lost in the process.
(Day 5 is coming as a separate second part.)

Meeting with friends, Wedding Ceremony in Church and Wedding Banquet are only small part of this vlog. I cannot show all of it because I have to respect the privacy of my friends and other guests. I only had my phone with me. All related content is used with permission from the couple and my friends.

Recently Hong Kong has been struggling with a variety of problems. First there were the government’s decisions which caused unrest among ordinary people and were followed by protests on the streets. Now it is the corona virus which took over and forced everyone, including the protestors, stay at home in fear of getting infected with the virus. It is definitely affecting the tourists who would like to travel to Hong Kong, but the ones who suffer the most are the ordinary people living there. I am sure that it has been hard for everyone for quite a long period of time already. I wish that soon things will take a turn for the better for Hong Kong and everyone living there!

For the most part the video is shot in Full HD with C-Log. Only some clips were shot in 4K for the ability to zoom in. For editing I used Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. The graphics were made in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. The time lapse from Victoria Peak was edited using Adobe Lightroom and LRTimelapse 5 Pro.
