Ever since I read Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln’s 1982 “The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail”, Rennes-le-Château has always been on my ‘got to visit’ list – and last month, I finally got there. It did not disappoint.
The scenery is wonderful; the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene, the Villa Bethany & Saunière’s gardens were everything I had expected & the Museum laid out the story in a very restrained manner.
Whatever you think of the Rennes-le-Château story and whatever you might believe, there is a mystery here that has not yet been fully followed up.
Now I just need to read “The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail” again…
