In this video, I’ll explain why there is a significant Sikh population in Canada and how they have such influential power in the country despite comprising only 2.1% of the population. We will also explore the history and teachings of Sikhism, a religion founded in the 15th century in India, and its evolution in Canada. 

We will examine the complex socio-political issues surrounding the Khalistan movement, a separatist movement seeking an independent Sikh state in the Punjab region of India, and the assassination of one of its leaders, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, which has resulted in strained relations between India and Canada.

After hours, I like getting out of the house and exploring something new – whether a new movie or a new city across the continent – I tend to get myself and my friends into spontaneous adventures. Trail running, swimming laps, and even some tae-kwon-do are my favorite ways to stay active.
