In 2016, Turkey and the EU reached “agreements” to stifle that travel. Three Greek islands off the coast of Turkey were the main entry points to Europe and therefore the western world.
I looked across the water from Samos to Turkey, less than a mile. Until now, this border was insignificant. Now it is a wall between a devastated East and a promising West.
