We found the world’s shortest escalator… and we rode it! And, as you may be thinking, it was awesome.
If you are in Kawasaki, a city located between Tokyo and Yokohama, and go to check More’s Department Store, in the basement level you will find a magnificent escalator that helps you on your way up. Its height is 83.4 cm (2.7 feet), it contains 5 steps and the ride lasts about 4 seconds. It was recognized as the world’s shortest escalator by the Guinness Book of Records back in 1989.
Watch our video to live this amazing experience! And if you want to check it yourself, you can take the East Exit of the JR Kawasaki Station (Tokaido, Keihin-Tohoku and Nambu Lines).
