Exploring Switzerland, France, and Germany is a captivating European adventure of a rich blend of history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes. Starting in the romantic city of Paris, our journey takes us on a scenic high-speed train ride on TGV Lyria to Zürich, Switzerland, a modern metropolis with a touch of old-world charm. We continue our travel by road to Basel situated along the picturesque Rhine River offering a vibrant art scene and the unique experience of walking across and back on the Three Countries Bridge, where Switzerland, France, and Germany converge. As we continue our road trip, Strasbourg’s enchanting half-timbered houses and Alsatian cuisine provide a delightful immersion into French culture. Baden-Baden’s thermal spas and elegant atmosphere make it an ideal stop before we reach Heidelberg, known for its medieval charm and historic castle. The enchanting Black Forest, with its dense woodlands and quaint villages, leads us to Triberg, famous for its intricate cuckoo clocks. The mesmerizing Reichenbach Falls, immortalized by Sherlock Holmes, provides a thrilling natural spectacle. Next, the pristine beauty of the Swiss lakes of Lungern, Sarnen and Lucerne offer peaceful interludes, followed by the charming city of Lucerne, set against a backdrop of stunning lakes and mountains of the Swiss Alps. Finally, our journey concludes with a scenic high speed SBB (Schweizerische BundesBahn) train ride from Zürich to Milan and then onwards to Venice on the wonderful Trenitalia Frecciabianca high-speed train winding through the picturesque Italian countryside and marking the perfect beginning to our next phase of the trip from Venice that is the subject of the next segment.
