Hello guys! Itβs interesting how you describe your point of view. And as I see there is no place on earth that is safe unless you rely on government systems heavily and if you are in crowded places.
I am in Ukraine and itβs war I did not run because some how I knew thatβs is going to happen and I do have house self sufficient, bunker and I know how I can take mine human body with medical and in worse condition what has in wilderness minerals and vitamins that I can take care of mine human body, as you know thatβs why we have food, lol not just to fill our stomach!!!
I have realised that there is more to it as just talk about what is going on itβs how am capable to deal with situations. As I eat just food that grows from earth itβs really great to have excess to it all year round but it is solution that food could be canned and dried.
I am thinking about two countries Ecuador and Spain because where I can have mine food year round and taken from the tree and bushes with maximum of life energy that contains, no chemicals to produce to spray and no chemicals for storing for long time, that is mine life style and itβs what I prioritize because itβs essential on mine mental and physical health.
I am in Ukraine and itβs third world country and I know what that means and Spain itβs in Europe and completely different mentality and honestly I do prefer to have mine privacy and mine social life separately, because private life is about what is the reason for mine human life, and social I can be part of community but I am not a magician Jesus I donβt catch fish with gold coins, donβt make alcohol from water and canβt feed many people with one fish, I am simply human and using mine human energy to have what I have and that needs to be recharged and good recharged in comfort for mine human body so as any other human.
Water is clean and I have water well deep 30 meters. Many things are available anywhere in the world.
Im thankful for yalls videos. very informative. as a burn survivor i hope to move down here one of these days. Temperature looks amazing.
There was wars, are and always will be because there is two systems on earth: One system is created by Universe as source of all life with own intelligence to control and human made systems that is based on money as for this civilization those who created golden calf as god of earthly wealth, merchants, 12 brothers of Israel are running the system. The merchant system is not bad if used for trade but when humans are product in that system itβs the cause of all hate on earth.
Everyone talks about geopolitical financial issues but I still donβt get it that no one talks about reboot
On earth and I am sure non of those issues matter and no money can save anyone lol π I am talking about reboot that happened in pharaohs time ago time lol but that was time of stone masons as we see ruinβs around the world! Lol pharaohs knew about that is going to happen and they believe in resurrection lol π do you see any of those mummies came back to life?
I know the reason for human life because I am connected to the main source of all life and I know mine life has begun in Universe before this human body was formed and that drop of life will go back to the source and mine priorities that mine life experiences to know the reason for mine life experiences to learn about creation by Universe everything that I see and wasnβt planted by humans and adapt to all changes on earth, that means was created in life of eternity in own life cycle.
Big shift in tectonic plates around new year that will cause volcanic activity and earthquakes, itβs time when summer and winter switch into opposite locations.
I understand that people donβt sense that but there is nothing I can do. I am a goddess and that means that I am creator for mine life and comfort for mine human body is comfort for mine Life Energy that is connected straight to the souse. So I know the real trinity: spiritual energy of life, soul as collective body of information of human body and body that is moral and recycle.
I am Goddess not a sheep π I donβt need a shaper , and despite people spiritual beliefs they give birth of humans bodies because the Spiritual entity comes based on creation of creator and reason for human life not in what human belief lol π as you see they fantasy is going above any human imagination.
I will come to Ecuador after I sell mine house and I will feel if mine spiritual energy of divine power is comfortable, if I will be comfortable!
Itβs not rocket science to understand that every choice we make is costly financially mentally and physically and you guys absolutely right everyone should seek for places where they feel comfortable!
Mine thoughtβs good faster than I can type and I have to recall them and sometimes sense is lost.
Maybe one day I will talk vs type and nothing be lost.
Excellent podcast! I learn more every week about life there and I truly appreciate your insights as always! The camera work was excellent as well today!
From mine point of view I can have mine life in USA not worse maybe even better than in Ukraine if I moved into small towns and people in America in small communities are helping each others and they are kind and generous. Itβs from mine experience and I am pretty much sure that people in big cities around the world are very different from people in small towns because of life style.
π
Looking forward to that Peter is very interesting to talk with .
Because so many of the city areas in the US are so dangerous, there has been a mass exodus to more rural areas and that has resulted in city like rents even in certain rural areas. I live in Sandpoint, Idaho, which is a rural town of about 20,000 people. Rents range from $1500 a month for a basic apartment up to 3k a month for a decent sized home. Real estate here is crazy too, as there are very few properties for sale under 500k.
How safe is Ecuador from Global predators given the oil, silver, and gold in Ecuador? Iβm not concerned about banana exports triggering predators.
Thanks. I always enjoy your videos! I just booked my flight to Ecuador for January before heading back to Chicago to start gathering my documents for visa. We are ready to settle down after 3 years of travel. I hope to see you guys in person soon. I canβt wait to sink my teeth into those delicious mangoes and all the other delicious fruit. π
How easy is it to find contractors to build and add to your home? Do they have basements there? In Canada where I live those kinds of foundations are common.
Excellent podcast around the rental situation gentlemen. What is a typical deposit for rentals? I have heard other expats say that you will never see that money etc etc. Can you clarify to any degree with any possible solutions etc? A question I have is regarding banking. If I want to come for 6 months from Canada, what does one do for cash? Is there a way of getting funds into Ecuador as a tourist once you are there. Is there a bank in Vilcabamba?
Thank you
What is it like there for tent camping/living? Nice podcast. Thanks and Aloha
I had just seen the news about the US citizen who shot the two protesters in Panama and was sickened to think that this man, and I'll use the term "man" loosely, thought he was justified shooting two people because they had the gall to simply interrupt his day. What is even more terrifying is when I read the comments of Fox News viewers and could not find one single comment from anyone who condemned his actions. They all supported his killing of these protesters. People here in the US have lost their damn minds and I can't wait to move to Ecuador next year and leave these idiots behind. People ask me here if I'm scared of the crime in Ecuador and I just laugh. I can't even go into someplace like Home Depot anymore without worrying about being shot to death by some moron in in the store because they ran out of his favorite brand of caulk. On top of that, our leading presidential candidate is a known criminal and fraudster who is currently facing 91 felony indictments and counting and if everything goes the way it should will be running for president from a prison cell. Afraid to move? Hell no. I'm afraid to stay. My only worry is that I'll run into a nut job with a gun from the US who has moved to Ecuador.
So good and helpful. Your podcasts are great and helping me to prepare.
Food supply and I recent pharmaceutical experiment. Foods apply elsewhere.
LOL You guys are awesome!!
Fiber arts will include skills like weaving, and felting, and encompasses everything from wall art to hats, rugs, tea towels and the clothing you wear. Hemp, wool, bamboo, alpaca, linen, cotton, silk, etc are all examples of "fiber" used for making loads of the daily use household goods we are all familiar with, and also includes less familiar fibers like milkweed, and nettles, which are more common in other countries. I own a tiny natural fiber, ethically made, clothing store here in Canada π I would love that event!!
I love everything I learn about Ecuador, specifically Vilcabamba, and am not sure I can wait for our exploratory trip in April. I was shopping this week, and saw huge beautiful mango's from Australia, for $10/lb…I weighed one and it was 2lbs, or $20!! For ONE. (no I did not buy one) Good gosh $25 for 72?? My mind is melting lol So eager to arrive you have no idea.
Where I live, 14,000 pop in an isolated community, the drug problem has been declared an emergency. During covid, more ppl died in BC from drug contamination (they are not all over dosing) than from covid, and the situation is just getting worse. Citizens literally carry naloxone kits (the treatment for a fentanyl poisoning) in their cars just in case, and the kits are free at Pharmacies. The BC government decriminalized carrying/using personal amounts of drugs, and made petty crime basically legal. So yeah, people walk into the local grocery store with a cart, fill it up, and walk out, and nothing is done, not even a call to police because the police do nothing but waste time. It's horrible. Where I work at a women's shelter, I have stopped referring people who are homeless to the homeless shelter because it is run by a large organization that hires ppl dealing with addictions, and the person in charge deals drugs. We have had several women report being assaulted there, and some have been hospitalized…so that's our gov't funded homeless shelter.
I can no longer stand living in a culture where all this is accepted, and the government is trusted to be solving issues. The gov't here is not even democratic and ppl don't seem to notice or care.
During covid ppl from Vancouver flocked here, so rent's went from $800 for a nice 2 bedroom to $2000+ Our "30 day stay" safe house has kept women as long as 11 months to prevent homelessness because ppl on fixed incomes have no options, even with all the "gov't support" they can get! Services are currently failing or non-existent despite increased gov't spending and crazy taxes. Leaving at this point is an easy decision for me. Truly the Ecuadorian culture of uniting to stand up for each other, and take care of each other especially vs the gov't and corruption won me over.
Deeply appreciate what you guys share, and your honesty!!
Sorry this is so long but we were all kinda traumatized during covid and I can't vent about this stuff to most ppl here.
You raised a valid point about the taxiβs which I never really considered before. I have a friend in Santo Domingo who used to have a bus on a specific route every day and he would only get like $50 in fares every day, of which he would have to pay about $30 of that to have the rights to the route. So he didnβt really take home much if I compare things to back home.
I do agree though that things like paying that little extra because you feel sorry for someone does kind of destroy that balance for everyone else.
Not everyone has the ability to pay that little extra.
When I was last in Guayaquil I got robbed and had to sofa surf at friends apartments for like 2 months. I used to get so angry when we needed to take a taxi and Iβd get hit with gringo prices. I cursed so much because they treated me, who was near broke after being robbed, like I was some rich westerner when the driver most likely had more money in his wallet than I did. I stopped taking taxiβs after that.
The point is that because of a couple of taxiβs that would fleece a foreigner, other taxiβs which may have been perfectly fine have missed out on custom also, and all because of what may have been just a couple of dollars difference.
I was wondering what the longest length rent on a house with a half acre close to town might be and how much it might be… Something like Carl's family has, maybe?
As always thank you guys for taking the time to explain your life there. I've heard you in a couple videos now say Vilcabamba and Ecuador are not for everyone. An idea for a future video clip would be maybe go into a little depth about who would best fit and help the culture of Vilcabamba thrive.
A GOOD INTERNATIONAL IMAGE OF ECUADOR. WE ARE LIVING A WAVE OF KILLINKDS BECAUS OF DRUGS AND ROBERS. BUT IT WILL BE PEACEFUL AGAIN . TALK ABOUT THE NEW ADMIINISTRATION ES WORKING WITH THE USA TO STOP IT.
This video was great.
Cheers from Swede in Mexico
Excellent podcast, hope you can go Loja and talk us about the Festival de las Artes, it has to be a great event. Thanks people keep it up.
Thirteen years in Ecuador….I agree, its not "gringo" price….its the gringo's not understanding bargaining, dickering, negotiating. The price is just an opening bid. People from the USA have been programmed to pay whats ask, too shy to bargain, to make a counter offer. Its easy to lower a rent by offering a several months paid ahead vs month to month.
A very necessary Topic , Well covered, thanks.. One idea for topic, maybe already covered before, is some tips on what to bring when coming for a short exploratory visit.. what increments of cash; a few rolls of coins? can I get change easy for a $100 bill at a bank in Loja? A few trusted taxi drivers you use to get from the airport to Vilcabamba, or to car rental in Loja,.. is there a preferred one, or same treatment at all of them?..etc.
Another home run vid! Very informative, and that back drop is to die for!
At the end of the video ( yes, i was one of those that made it to end, so i understand i get a free box of mangos when i come lol) you mentioned lower fertility rates. Those go hand in hand with exposure to the BPA in plastics, hormone disrupting chemicals, pesticides and increase sugar consumption. All of those have contributed to lower T in men, hence lower fertility. In the 1940's when plastics were invented, scientists had around 300 chemicals to choose from to make the plastics softer and plyable. They chose the one ( of course conspiracy proven right) BPA which impacts testosterone and fertility in the most severe way. So guys, ditch the plastic, and do what i do…wash your hands after you touch it. BTW…an added bonus. They actually coat the receipts you get at the store with BPA.
Thanks. I particularly enjoyed this podcast.Your explanation of the different rents, and the value of a beautiful landscape and gardener as part of the rent was really helpful.
