A surreal experience – van life from France into Italy

Our van life started when we spent two years during lockdown building our self converted Mercedes Sprinter camper van. It’s now our fabulous little home on wheels and we’re putting it through its paces in an epic 4 1/2 month tour around Europe. This week we have left Italy and travel across the French Riviera, but not the traditional places that people normally visit in this region.
After that, we drove towards the Spanish border where we found some unexpected sights and continued on to Figueras. That was surreal.
Then to Barcelona which turned out not to deliver the experience we had been hoping for.
