#sailing #sailingvideos

Sailing around the world with a pet…. there’s more involved than one may think, ya’ll! But we hope today’s video gives ya’ll all some insight, in case you too, perhaps, are considering traveling the world on a boat with your own dog. Delilah has sailed with us from Coconut Grove Florida to Key West, then Mexico, the Bahamas… Then she sailed with us for a week to Bermuda… Of course she was right there with us for our next sail to Sao Miguel which was 1 day shy of 3 weeks at sea! And onto Mainland Portugal, Morocco, Ibiza & Palma in Spain… To France and all down the souther coast of France…. to now Italy… Which is 9 countries for her just this year.

Traveling the world with a dog is not without it’s challenges… But some aspects have been easier than we expected. And some aspects of world travel with a pet are going to definitely be a challenge as we navigate to more strict countries as our journey continues….

But we hope this video is helpful to ya’ll and gives you a realistic picture of what it has been like for us in year 1 of traveling the world with a dog onboard!

  4. Great video. I’m sure you answered tons of questions for your followers and for future cruisers. Like me, you take pet ownership very seriously. They become part of the family and we are responsible for their care and wellbeing for their entire lives. You are up to the challenge of having her along for your world traveling adventures. Bravo!

  7. Very hart warming to see the love your dog receives from you both. She's a lucky little girl. I'm live in Opua Bay of islands New Zealand. Your first port of call. if there is anything I can do to help you out with getting Delilah into the country please let me know. Let's try to make this as easy as possible. Just thinking forward, (I've never done this before) but perhaps you may need an address or a land base for her for a while. I don't know. I do recall sailing nangi having a lot of trouble with their dog Marley & he had to have land based time here in New Zealand before going to Australia. Just a thought. Keep up the good work & give your fur baby a big hug from us please. πŸ‘πŸ˜‰. SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand πŸ‘πŸΏ

  8. We thank you both for this informative episode on " Traveling with Pet's", informative and truly necessary material. You certainly covered all our needs for sailing with our pets. We have 2 kitten's, brother and sister, which our youngest son David adopted after his divorce. Since loosing his family he has gone into a deep depression and is under a physician's care and medication. David has more or less lost interest in life and being forty years of age, without employment for nearly 18 months, has moved in with us. Thus our travel time as retiree's have been limited. Thank you again for this very interesting episode.
