Bumbling. Meandering. Wandering. Failing. Succeeding. All part of the experience of full-time motorhome living. We find ourselves in the Penedes, the epicenter of cava production where we educate ourselves (and taste lots of cava) before we make our way towards the glorious Costa Brava region. The beautiful Tossa De Mar is just one of the highlights of this week.

PLEASE REMEMBER:
We make vlogs, not travel guides. We don’t film everything we see or do. Our videos cannot tell every story or show every place we visit. Our videos are merely a short snippet of sometimes a week’s worth of life on the road and it’s intended to show our experience as full-time travelers. As we’re constantly on the move it’s also not always possible to take the time to research every single location. We really appreciate when people offer us advice or make suggestions for our next visit. Please don’t make assumptions or be rude. To us or to each other.

  1. We feel your pain with the swish bangers. They tend to rock up at silly o'clock park on your bumper and try to beat the world records of opening and closing the doors before they retire for bed🤣, but hey ho thats living on the road. Great vlog again, we love travelling Spain, enjoy 👍

  2. I just can't understand why they would want to park so close, absolutely no consideration for any body else.
I love the way you guy's travel, no real plains, taking it easy, so much more relaxing. Enjoy. 👍🐸

  3. Good evening, how are you? You're right, it's also happened to us with so much space that at late hours of the night someone parks next to us in the wee hours of the night, opening and closing doors, talking loudly, in short, a lack of respect for others who are trying to rest 🤦.
We even had to change seats at 4 am because of a group that was partying next to us until late 🙈. Holy patience!!!
    Thanks for sharing
    kisses

  4. If you are still in Catalonia you must visit Girona's Jewish Quarter, Pals, Peratellada, Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranch and farther north: Cadaqués, Port de La selva, Port Lligat, Cap de Creus, etc… I guess you'll be somewhere else by the time we are watching this video.

  5. 😊 Lisa scared of spiders show was very cute. Reminds me of our daughter's fear of spiders. We live in Australia and we have lots of redback spiders around our homes (mostly around the wet area and under the stones and bricks). They are not deadly but their bite can be quite painful reaction especially for kids and old and sick people with chronic problems. When we moved to Australia she was around 3 years old and she was fascinated with bugs and she would stop and pick up any crawling bug on the ground with her bare hands to have a closer look. I was afraid one day she will pick up this redback spider and I always told her to stop touching bugs with her hands. 10 years later things changed in opposite direction (no she wasn't bitten by any bugs or spiders she just changed). And she developed arachnophobia and even today when she faces any spider she freaks out just like Lisa here. She even makes the same faces and distrust after the spider is removed away. OK maybe it is better to be safe than sorry but living always if fear from spiders and always panicking is more harmful to health than most of the spider bites.

And for those chicken feet you found in Aldi shop they can be very tasty if you forget their looks. Most people believe chicken feet as a food are used only in Asia, but some European countries also look at them as a delicacy. Hungarians put them in Sundays soup and even eat them. Actually chicken feet are very healthy. They contain collagen and some minerals such as copper, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, and also calcium. Especially when making a bone broth. So if you are discussed by the looks you can cook them in your (clear) soup with some veggies and noodles and then discard them if you really hate their looks. You will end up with a very healthy and tasty soup. Good for immune system.

Another great video. Thank you for the upload.

  6. Loved Tossa de Mar! my son and I spent a week there a few years ago and spent a lot of time on the small beach on the other side of the castle. The food in the area was incredible and people were extremely friendly. Would recommend going in September and find an AirBnB in town if you can’t camper van it.

  7. You may find the "neighbours" were struggling to find a place. Possibly driving long days in an attempt to get somewhere by a certain date and the parking place where you were, was literally a pull in and sleep spot. Being near other motorhomes possibly made them feel safe. We have a sliding door, very noisy swish bang door and we cringe if we arrive back to our van after a certain time, we usually try not to. But, it can't be left open so a bang it has to be If you choose to live and travel in your campervan, that's what you will experience now and again. That's my rant over. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

  8. Hello Both Your experience of the van parking close by reminded us of the time when we were parked with our caravan in an aire on the autoroute not far from Calais (northern France) ready to cross to England the following day. At around midnight a car pulled into the space right next to us and a group of people got out with bottles of booze and a guitar and proceeded to have a sing-song immediately outside our window. Bear in mind, this was in a totally empty car park !! We had no option but to move to another aire to get some sleep. Some people ! Btw, we are currently touring Spain too, with our caravan. In the beautiful Marina Alta region at present. Enjoying your vlogs, thanks.

  9. Hi both. Among the Spaniards, opinion is divided for and against bullfighting. The fighting bull is bred expressly to be bullfighted. If bullfighting were prohibited they would simply become extinct. On the other hand, from the moment they are born they live their entire lives. In complete freedom and isolated from people in large pastures, of all the animals that humans raise, fighting bulls are undoubtedly the ones with the best quality of life. I don't like seeing a bull die in the bullring but let's not be hypocritical. Every day we kill millions of chickens, rabbits and more animals that live locked in a small cage and never see sunlight in their entire lives.

I just wanted to make you think about it a little.

I really like your videos. Greetings.

  10. I'm going to teach you guys a 'possible' new caravanning word…."wizbang" which I think is from our home Australia. It is those freeking campervans with huge sliding doors and its the sound they make when they camp 3m from you, often at 1100pm, and that damn door goes… wizzzzzBANG every time they close it. We try to camp on our own but you are right, it's definitely a European thing to pull up close and open/close that door at least 6 times whilst they pee in the dark. They do it in Australia too and nearly always European backpackers. They are bloody pests and we avoid 'wizbangs' like crazy.
