Ponts du Diable, Devil’s bridges, L’abbaye de Prèbayon, France – on foot and with drone

A bet is made with the devil to build a bridge. The devil promises to build the bridge in a given time, usually one night, and is supposed to receive the soul of the client or the soul of the client’s son or daughter in return. Through a trick, however, the client manages to cheat the devil out of his profit. The devil goes his way annoyed and the client is happy about a well-built bridge.

This legend is told in various variations about a number of historical bridges that can be found in France.
