Follow us on our Grand Icelandic Roadtrip!
Born from the fiery womb of the earth, and shaped by glaciers, tempests, and swells, Iceland bears a likeness to the earth when it was young – a boisterous spirit, untamed and running wild. Combining the inhospitable plains of the central highlands with moss-adorned river canyons and massive ice sheets, Iceland is the crown jewel of our planet’s rich treasures.

Flying a drone in Iceland:
Please be aware that restrictions on flying drones in Iceland apply. As an example, flying in national parks requires you to obtain a license. Read more about that here: https://ust.is/english/visiting-iceland/faq/#drones. If you intend to fly a drone in Vatnajökull National Park, make sure to apply through https://www.vatnajokulsthjodgardur.is/en/communities–businesses/permits.
Please understand, that we obtained such a permit to shoot in Vatnajökull National Park. In general, be mindful of other visitors and do not disturb their experience by flying a drone directly above their heads. This is both dangerous and extremely ignorant. Don’t be this guy.
Real Talk:
Despite our attempt at keeping our Iceland Travel Documentary as authentic as possible, you are still watching a highlight reel. When editing, we naturally tend to choose the most exciting clips. What you don’t see are the hours spent driving through less spectacular landscapes or some of the challenges we faced.
Full Disclosure:
This trip was entirely self-funded. However, we participated in two complimentary whale-watching tours with North Sailing.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 just amazing
Nag Geo is doing a disservice by not recruiting/paying you for your absolutely incredible docu’s..
We LOVED Iceland!! I hope Toyota is sponsoring you as well….you certainly show everyone what your truck is capable of doing!
Looks like the Aleutians.
But with paved roads
You are the best, my friend…
//;;//;/;//…
That was superb, Iceland may leave you speachless with it`s raw natural beauty, but you Lucas, you have a plethora of adjectives and the narration was outstanding! 😍👏🎬
Bedankt
Wonderful rugged roadtrip with very professional documentary! Good to see you're well, and maybe we'll meet again! Love from Ina and Jeroen.
Basically the best "non professional" travel documentaries out there on YT!
Lucas your drive to venture out and explore the remote locations along with amazing photography and perfect naration puts your documentarys in a class of their own. Another masterpiece. Many thanks, Iceland is remarkable 😊
So amazing, especially the views with the lupines and snow capped mountains at 4:00…was this part taken in June and if so what part of the month? And which of the summer months did you enjoy traveling in Iceland the most?
As a man from the tropics, i am stunningly amazed by the beauty of Iceland you have shown in this video documentary. I really would like to visit the country but with a very cold climate, I'll just pass the chance. Anyways, thank you for bringing me there in your documentary video. Thank you so much, Lucas.😊
Found your channel several months ago and have watched every video. This last one to Iceland was your best work yet. It was fantastic and so much detail. Just cannot get enough . Thank you so much for taking the world along for the journey. Please be safe in your travels and hopefully you never get tired of sharing your adventures. I can appreciate the long hours it has to take to put these together.
Thank you for your efforts. It was one of the most striking episodes I have watched. Thank you and greetings from Turkey.💚💙❤
Beautiful cinematography and narration.
Was für ein grandioses Meisterwerk!! Filming, Schnitt, Musik alles! Danke für diesen wunderschönen Islandfilm! 😍😍😍 Daumen hoch ist zu wenig. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 Liebe Grüße von Sylvia und Chris 🙋♀️🙋🏻♂️🍀
Next level travel documentary, superb.
Wow❤❤ thank you
As I remember, you are already visited to the Iceland, and why now with your car?
Amazing trip. Thanks for sharing
I watched this beautiful documentary last night. So well done, beautifully photographed and filmed .The best documentary I have ever seen on Iceland, or anywhere for that matter. Thank you Lucas.
Fantastic travel documentary! i to have been blessed to see the the land of fire n ice- you’re doc bought back so many happy memories- ty ❤ and you’re puffling release was the happiest ending ever ❤ safe travels my foreign friends ✌🏽
This is your best video yet and I have watched them all. It has def inspired us to travel all the way from Australia to the land of fire and ice. I believe June/July are the better months? as much as I love the snow we would also camp in a 4wd and wouldnt want to freeze our butts off everyday. We would def bring a drone (with permits). Questions as there is clearly no trees in any of your videos how do the local people heat their homes as whale and seal oil used to be used but of course no more?
Thank you for your beautiful documentary. Hope you guys stay safe and healthy. Love from Cambodia 🇰🇭❤
I have no words to describe that how much I have enjoyed this video. Your Videography, narration, and voice makes these videos extremely enjoyable to watch. Had to watch it in 2 parts but worth it. A country like Iceland explored by you and released on YouTube for the world to see what I am grateful for you. Thank you so much, never stop creating these masterpieces.
great
Amazing experience! Wish had seen it before my trip to Iceland!
Dear Lucas and Anna,
What a testimonial to one of the most beautiful countries on earth, with sometimes harsh forces of nature (thinking about the current situation and those affected in the Grindavík area).
How well you've captured your travels and made it in this work of art. Because that's what this video is. It surely has been a lot of work in editing all the raw footage in this magnificent video. A big, big thumbs up.
We've had the pleasure to travel to Iceland a few times, and it does indeed seem to make you come back again, which we hope to do in a few weeks.
Let us wish you all the best in future travels. Stay safe and healthy
Best wishes from the Netherlands.

Thank you – this was a wonderful and educational journey – your cinematography was outstanding and the landscape made it absolutely, as you say, extraordinary and above all breath taking. “Yahweh” … said with just a breath when we are born and when we die we breathe “Yahweh”…,
I am from Scotland and thought we had the best scenery but Iceland is something else. The photography in your video is amazing and compliments the scenery perfectly!
wow ! apart from the breakdown of the car, you had a lot of luck with the weather. Just as I was thinking if there was swimming opportunity you dove into a hot spring ! I guess the lakes and ocean are too cold. And what a mighty sight of that erupting volcano ! Always a pleasure to see your beautiful docs xxx thanks !
Used to watch your videos with my partner living on other continent, with a motivation that we too will explore like you in our future. Your videos also helped me overcome my stress, really grateful to you both. Love from th❤
Am from India ,, first of all a lot of love to you for another masterpiece documentary,, Now my expectations is gradually increaseing & i am desperately waiting for Latin american country like CHILE , BOLIVIA ,,,,,,,, PLEASE make a concern on it and once again for your great a lot of appreciation from my side❤❤❤
yesssss!!!!! I was waiting for that one!!!!
Can there be any other way to picturise and narrate Iceland better than the way Lucas did. Hats off to you.
Very Good Lucas, congratulations.
This video is excellent, as always. I was in Iceland last year and it's really worth seeing. Your adventure showed me places that I couldn't imagine for travelling alone, but maybe someday in the future… who knows? Thanks a lot for your great work!
And you catching pufflings – amazing!
Spectacular ❤
The best thing I have on you tube! You are sooo talented I appreciated every second! I’m a big fan of Iceland and it blew me away! You made my day!
Vielen Dank
We came back from our 3rd Iceland trip less than a month ago and shortly thereafter I’ve been struck with Covid and been stuck in bed since 😔 Thank you again! I must admit I’m a bit jealous about helping the puffin we went last year to Westmann and not 1 puffin I was gutted! I would love to go and help can you tell me how you found out about this? Also 🙏🏼 massive 👍🏼 for clearing the beach! I love that
You have done a tremendous job with this documentary 🙌
❤ICELAND❤
Sabrina🇫🇷🇬🇧
You did it again Lucas:one more master piece. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, the amount of work you put into this together with the outstanding quality are overwhelming. From all the videos I've seen from Iceland none of them gets even close to yours. Thank you once more
Hi, I actually hate all this 4×4 promotion, as currently everybody seems to feel empowered to rush and wild-track with the bigger and bigger 4x4s not only on Forest/Nature-Park Maintenance routes but over private and pure nature or nature trails, even in countries where clearly such is prohibited for a reason – leave nature be, untouched.
I like, though (based on the presented scenes) that you seem to drive official roads only and for the nature or trail piece opt to hike, which is the sensible way of exploring pure nature, leaving the truck behind.
I want to thank you to set an example here, as it would be sad to see all these nice views being captured like many others do by trespassing nature rather wildly. Been to almost everywhere from Iceland, Northcape, Greece, Morocco, Portugal, experiencing all of it and the extreme increase of tourism, understandably after the pandemic. Still I experience continuous zero to low traffic on all my tarmac travels across the wider european and neighboring areas.
Again, thank you for your effort, quality and sensible approach.
Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
Your videos very stunning and awesome,
Absolutely amazing, you just feel that you were part of the trip. Iceland is indeed a natural wonder.
Thanks a lot !❤
Very interesting ,beautifull…!!!Thanks for clining up..I like to do that too🙂
The drone shots are too quality, Apple, give him a shot at the drone shots
