We’ve made it to Greece baby!!! Come along with me Travel Dons as I take you on a tour of Ancient Athens. We will start with some quick breakfast in the Thissio neighborhood just outside of the Pynx Hill. Afterwards we spend a few hours exploring the birthplace of Western Democracy. Places including the Pynx Hill, The Odeon of Herodus, The Theatre of Dionysus and of the Acropolis where the Parthenon reigns Supreme.

Much of Ancient Greece was built between the 6th and 4th centuries B.C. The Parthenon itself was built during the reconstruction of Athens after the sack by the Persians. Commissioned by Perikles the leader of Athens at the time, this structure was built in under 15 years.

Afterwards we head to the Makrygianni district of Athens and explore the Acropolis Museum. A veritable collection of Antiquity statues and archeological finds. We will finish off with a delicious meal and glass of wine in the Makrygianni main street.

  1. Amazing tour of Ancient Athens! Your insights into the history of landmarks like the Parthenon and the Acropolis Museum truly brought the past to life Thanks for sharing this incredible journey – can't wait to see more!

  2. Athens looks amazing! The ancient city looked so beautiful, I sure want to see that some time! That Greece cheesecake looked pretty delicious! Have a great trip down there!

  3. what a magical place! You'll have covered every single coffee shop in Athens. Such an historic city and one I am yet to visit! (I have plans… 🙂 but not for a couple of years). All the can/can't video rules drive you barmy, right? why they think theres a point to banning audio at spots in the Acropolis I have no idea because recording audio later is hardly a massive hurdle for anyone in 2023. Great video of course Mr TTD!

  4. Great visit to the Acropolis my friend; you really refreshed my memory about it. It's truly a place to visit at least once in a lifetime, considering that the history of a significant part of Western civilization began in this country.

  5. Dude Greece would be awesome! This is on our bucket list of places to check out. How does it feel being around places with that much history? I like checking out places here with old stories and history to them, but this is a whole other level. Great stuff as usual

  6. Beautiful, beautiful. Great history lessons. What a great location; this history, the architecture is fabulous. The food-that Greek yogurt is massive and yummy looking. Greek coffee, YES.

  7. I’m so here for learning and seeing these historical places! Absolutely incredible. Wait! I’m not stuck on you can’t film with talking in front of the Parthenon? Can you take photos with you in it? I have so many questions. This is definitely good to know.

  8. Athens is the place we really want to explore, Love to visit Acropolis and Parthenon and all those ancient ruins, that miniature Lego models look so cool
