Solo travel is the only way I travel…unless it's a road trip, then I bring my dogs with me. I like to do what I want, when I want to do it. I love having a visit with friends along the way, but I want my vacation to be my vacation…okay, it's really the dogs' vacation, but we like all the same things 😊.
Great episode. I solo travel all the time, mostly because I usually travel for 3-4 months at a time and it’s difficult to find people that travel that way. I am a little bit more of a planner than you, I book all my hotels and transportation way ahead of time but I leave what I’m gonna do at a location up in the air. I feel that’s a good balance where I don’t have to worry about where to stay or how to book last minute transportation but have the flexibility to explore things in or around the town I’m visiting. I travel with a backpack and that makes it easy to get from one location to another. I highly suggest everyone should solo travel at least once, you really do learn a lot about yourself.
Very important topic,I think it is a great opportunity to know yourself and be kind of free to decide what you want to do!.Great topic!
This is everything. Encapsulates so well solo travel.
The personal growth. The completely different interaction and immersion with the new place vs going with others.
Travel call change and challenge you. I think for the better. You no longer have the luxury or burden of someone else's thoughts and ideas about a place or people. Truly liberating and empowering.
When done well, your eyes become open to things, feelings and concepts you never considered before.
Travel alone must be boring and could be dangerous as well, depending on the country you go. It could be expensive too as well but by all means, if you want to be adventurous and get to know the world of diversity, go for it.
I have done solo travel and for the most part it was fine, there were times where I wished I was with a relative or friend for protection.
Scott I’d do solo tracing if I was a normal person, but being disabled using a wheelchair is a different ball game. Easy normal situations gets very stressful and more complicated. What insight you’d give me to encourage me to travel solo ?
