The one and only time I went to Mexico I had much the same experience. Cab ride from airport to resort $20. I left my back pack at the airport. Had to go back. It cost $75 back and $100 back to resort. Only to find someone stole everything out of my back pack.

Shame on you. Stop spreading negativity about any country or place. Every country has its own beautiful and ugly side. Even the so called most developed country and most rich and powerful The USA has so many problems, like drugs, gun violence , corruption, homelessness ….and the list continues.
Have some sense of gratitude asshole towards the hospitality that people of one of the poorest and third world country( that is what the west likes to call us) has offered you.
If you cant take any good memories from here at least take a slight sense of tranquility and peace this country offers.
