  1. Great stuff, but 7 plus minutes to the new travel pods. Shows us how far Britain's awful privatised railways have fallen behind the rest of Europe. Get on with HS two and three now, as well as northern powerhouse rail, Cross Rail two and HS link to Bristol and South Wales, preferably with British built trains and rolling stock to develop technologies and skilled jobs, rather than Siemens pathetic screwdriver operation in Goole

  2. I had booked Nightjet tickets last year soon as Austria opened itself totally to the world. However, I had to cancel due to pressing issues at work. To date, I never have experienced a European sleeper train yet.

For those wanting to save up money for Nightjet, this is one of the rare moments that Eurail/Interrail passes would shine, provided you have at least a couple more long-distance train trips within a month.

  3. I love your videos! Also those of Simply Railway and Superalbs Travels. Y'all keep me entertained big time!

And you also teach me stuff about Indian Railways that I myself, as an Indian, don't know!

The next time you're in India, you should try out the Vistadome coaches on some trains that ply between Bengaluru and Mangaluru. These are dome cars with swivelling chairs and large windows (and windows on the roof as well). There's also an observation space at the back. The train gives you fantastic views of the Western Ghats rainforests, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Vistadome service is booked as an "Executive Chair Class" (ECC) ticket on 16515 Karwar Express, 16575 Gomateshwara Express or 16539 Mangaluru Jn. Weekly Express. All these trains originate from Yesvantpur (YPR) Station, Bengaluru. Do take care to book this service from Bengaluru to Mangaluru to get the best views of the track and the many tunnels, as the observation car faces the locomotive on the reverse journey and is a bit of a let-down.

There is no meal service, only some vending machines that deplete quickly. Hawkers mostly don't enter the ECC coaches either. So you should probably get your food at a station with a long stop, such as Subrahmanya Road. The Kukke Subrahmanya Temple is a popular destination which you might wanna visit too, btw.

  4. No way in HELL I could do one of these coffins with my claustrophobia. NO THANK YOU!!! I actually had to stop when you crawled into the pod – it set off my claustrophobia.

  5. Teething troubles is a simple , infant analgesic drops , and numbing teething gel, that can be taken with in the nappy bag, try taking two ice bags , with ice inside then , in a small cooler , freeze two teething rings , before going on the train .the owwies of teething will go away , just a tip from from a mom of 6 kids.

  6. They look smart but pretty horrific to use by the look. The lockable curtain would give me the creeps if I were a solo female traveller. Why is it even needed.
Everyone's shizz on the stairs would be in the bin as soon as I arrived. You even had to move someone's shoes out of the way to show access to your shoe store!

    Sorry but not for me.

  7. I really want to like this video but the shaking of the camera whenever you moved or took a step was somewhat jarring. I've seen a few of your videos and I've never seen them shake like this when you moved around before. Sorry 🙁

  8. Would been good to have on the railroad to Stavanger from Oslo, but much of rail network is notorious for breakdown due to wind and weather and work delays. As well as problem with the carrier firm, also sadly.

  9. This is truly awful, like going back to the XIXth century travel style. Not only they are expensive and slow, they are also very uncomfortable and not that environmentally-friendly, as a lot of the electricity produced in Germany and central Europe is not clean at all, it comes mainly from burning gas and coal

  10. It looks solid but frankly 135€ is ridiculous pricing, and awful value for money! I'd never pay more than 100€ one way for something like this and most I know would never pay more than 60-80€ for a product like this on an overnight route! ÖBB's recent price increase seems like they're shooting themselves in the foot and eliminating a huge chunk of their potential market, for seemingly no other reason than increasing profit margins to the maximum amount, with no considerations for how it affects their market base. Especially considering a solo sleeper compartment without en suite just a few years ago cost approximately the same as the pods do now!
