Greetings YouTube! Hit that subscribe button and join me as I set off from Naveil in France on an epic ride to Burgos in Spain. The weather is atrocious, the distance is long and the hours soon rack up. The Sahara desert is my ultimate destination; is this the ride to break the camel’s back?

  1. Great to see warts and all of a road trip , i felt your pain in the rain. it throw it down last summer for us from yorkshire to Andorra … hope things get easier for you. looking forward to the next episode

  2. I had the same problem with my phone on a rainy day in the UK, my solution was to hard wire the Quad Lock wireless charging head. Safe travels!

  3. Incredible rain !!!! Reminded me of a European trip I did with my wife on a Honda CX500 Turbo going from France into Italy when it was pitch dark at 2:00pm with torrential rain (and fork lightening !) and visibility was practically zero. All I could do was follow the blurred tail lights of cars in front of me. We survived and had fabulous sunshine in Rome. So hopefully the sun came out for you – we'll see in the next few episodes. Enjoying the series so far.

  4. It seems the days of the tank bag/map/ directions written down to give a general idea of direction and distance to assist with the SatNav are gone. Faff level of 11 with not getting cameras wet and charging mobile phones all whilst travelling just on motorways. Hope the rest of this trip goes well.

  5. I used a quad lock cable for an iPhone on a recent trip to Germany and travelling back to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I had torrential rain. The charging cable failed because of the water. I complained the quad lock and they sent me another cable, but the original cable had to be binned. My friend who used a Connected cradle on his BMW had no such issues. Lesson learned. I really felt for you and that rain as I knew how frustrating it can be.

  6. Well done, mate, after one hell of a day 👏 Why do motorcycle clothing manufacturers get away with saying waterproof when 90% are not unless you pay absolutely stupid money. As you you say the good old all in one is best 😂

  7. Bit disappointed to hear the alpinestars didn't do the job, bought the same gear last year, got caught in a few showers and stayed dry, but now I know what I've got to look forward to if I'm in a torrential downpour..🤦
    Great video, ride safe mate..👍

  8. Why do you make such extreem long days on your bike mate. When you are tired like this your gone make mistakes especialy when you have to drive at the right side of the road. Hope everything goes well. Many greetings from Holland

  9. Great video your a great guy so easy to follow.Yes i see a few guys opting for smaller engine bikes still the fuel hikes in the last few yrs and I'm starting to think that way to,a 700 cc or 800 probably does around 60 odd mpg riding in or around the speed limits compared to my Yamaha super tenere 1200 it does around 53 mpg so if you were able to get another 10 miles more to your gallon that makes a hell of a difference on a big trip….❤ from Ireland

  10. I think all motorcyclist should protest against tolls they are a pain in the ass especially for motorcyclists. We really rely so much on our phones now too dont we?we are totally lost without them and yet when i biked in the 80s and 90s i had no phone and survived no bother.

  11. Well done that's a hard ride in those conditions and the dark. I did it in the other direction from the Picos up to Caen in storm Clara a few years ago – also had biblical rain and high winds of the Bay off Biscay. I was knackered but the bike, a naked Triumph Street Triple 675, never missed a beat even over the mountains with several cm's of standing water on the road. Better times ahead hopefully 🌞☀

  12. Enjoying your travels but concerned that your days are very long . Are you editing on the go ? Hopefully your days will be better once you get to Morroco . Safe Travels
