Will we ever leave Sweden!? Big winter plans revealed!

Christmas is quickly approaching and soon is the time to put our van travel plans in to action! We were hoping to have travelled towards a warmer climate by now, but we were stuck in Sweden when Malin was admitted to the hospital with a severe abdominal pain.
This seems to have been caused by complications from Malin’s colorectal cancer surgery along with damages from radiation therapy. Malin was diagnosed with an aggressive form of colon cancer at just 29 years old, and has since received several forms of cancer treatment, including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and 2 major operations to remove the large tumour, leaving Malin with no uterus or colon, and with a permanent colostomy.
A couple of months ago our little family sold our house and moved in to our van, with plans to take our van life south and somewhere hopefully a little warmer for the winter. Who knows if or when that will happen!

We are a young ‘Swenglish’ adventure family, that consists of Swedish Malin, English Tom, and babies Charlie & Isabella, who are half and half. We love all kinds of adventures, including travelling around Sweden and beyond in our little budget family campervan, and we’re currently building our dream campervan project.
But right now we’re focused on one thing: to be free of cancer. We’ve been on the journey to recover since Malin received her colorectal cancer diagnosis in late 2022.

Looks very cold there. I hate the cold and my health usually always worse in the cold weather. This is the problem when hospital visits are expected as they think everyone is static. Not everyone stays at home. Some have other plans but hey no such as life. Maybe the hospital will discharge Malin now. It everyone with nerve neuropathy for whatever cause should not left to suffer the very cold weather. I cannot put my eating off until it gets older as an older person needs this to get up and about

A request? If possible and you do get the 'green light' from Malin's appointment, would you just post a wee video to say that you have got the 'green light' and not make us wait to next Friday to know? You don't have to tell me anything other than that you did get that important signal and I'll be happy to let you carry on sorting through belongings and getting van ready to go and other van a place that isn't so cold. I'm just sitting here with my fingers crossed for that positive signal. Thanks for updating us with what sorts of travel plans you are thinking of. The Canaries sounds like it would really suit.

I had a cold van night at 10C so I feel like a wimp. I really hope Malin gets the all clear to travel. I have some neuropathy too so I know about the pain. Stay warm and safe and post when you get a chance. Much love. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
