Colmar, France, we have voted unanimously as the most beautiful city in France and top 3 on our driving tour of Europe. Amsterdam was our favourite city for vibe and things to do, both historically and interestingly, and Cologne, Germany wins for best sausage and night out… funX 🕺🍻… although the Black Forest spa tour is next on our list so we’ll see ;)… Vimy was my favourite part of the trip as we were able to pay tribute on Remembrance Day, to the men and women who brought us everything we know today, notably as Canadians… and especially to the fact that my grandfather fought and survived the Vimy Ridge battle after being wounded twice… the second time being shot through the heart… but after being propped up against a tree and left for dead, they found that he had beaten them back to the base and was brought back to health by my future grandmother ❤️❤️❤️. I had shivers as I walked through the same trenches that he had, and we met other Canadians who shared similar stories about their grandparents who they were paying tribute to. I haven’t spoken enough about my grandfather as I am still collecting the archives about his story, but I will share in due time… Each city was unique and beautiful, so every city won, and we still have London, Dublin and Vancouver etc to go… but for now… Cheers to Colmar!!!❤️🍻
